More complexity for Residential place point house numbers
More Complexity was adder for House Numbers when using House numbering -feature. However, there is still restrictions when adding Residential place point.
Because It's not possible to use House numbering feature in country side where houses are far away from named road.
" As a WME user I want to add House number format for example 180-7 for residential place, in a case when houses are far away from named road"

The complexity numbers (and leters / symbols) is needed for Residential Place Point (RPP) specially where the NUMBERS / IDs of Houses are OUT OF ORDER in the road... not in the Sequencial Ascending Order !
In the "img" of SEARCH ORDER, the RPP is the FIRST OPTION in the flow... then this one also would be the first to accept the "complexity numbers" !!!
Remember that WAZERS can ADD and EDIT their OWN address / HOME / RESIDENCE as a RPP !!!!
Then why Waze lost / missed to apply same changes of HN priority to the RPP ????
It makes NO SENSE !!!! -

This should be considered for all places, not just Residential Place Points

We also have the formats such as 187/12-34, 123-45-678, 123-T1-45 which are currently not supported.

Currently an address for Residential Point Place with a dash cannot be edited and saved on the Waze Map Editor. App users are adding RPP PUR's with an address which includes a dash. Editors cannot approve them, thereby negating the input by user.

This is afaik worldwide problem, RPP's don't support same number formats as house numbers and that needs to be fixed.

Agree this is required. In the UK Village I live in at least half the houses have house names , no numbers.
In addition when Waze / Google satnav users try to find a house name , the directions default to the post code WR11 4TL sending cars down a private road with no turning space, meaning cars have to try and reverse down a narrow lane back out onto a very busy main road.
If you add into the mix the number of home deliveries these days, Waze / Google is not a reliable map for rural villages.

I wish to add residential addresses in the Peak District of Derbyshire - a "typical" rural area of the UK. Currently, it is impossible to do so within the WME as a residential place if that address contains anything other than numerical data [aside from a limited suffix].
Here is a sample of the data I would like to add; from just one postcode of one small village - maybe 25 to 30% of the total addresses in the village:

Ashford House, Chapel Street, Monyash, Bakewell, DE45 1JJ

Nursery Fields Farm, Horse Lane, Monyash, Bakewell, DE45 1JJ
1 The Square, Monyash, Bakewell, DE45 1JJOf those 49 addresses - all of them residential - only 5 include a numerical element, of which 4 relate to a terrace of cottages built perpendicular to the street the address relates to [i.e. their "entry point" is at the same place on the street] - and one of those four has a house name as a part of the address too!!! [we British like to name our houses, it appears to make where we live look "posh"].
This is by no means atypical of the situation in most of rural Britain.
We *NEED* to be able to add [and edit] RRPs with alphabetical characters in WME ASAP otherwise whole swathes of Britain will remain unmappable with regard to their addresses. This is especially important because although it is possible to approximate a nominal position on a street full of house numbers, from a couple of known fixed points, it is impossible to do so on a street full of house names [or a collection of random alphabetical characters as it would appear to an alogrithm].
Edit: I was going to add this as a new idea, but I saw Kevin had got here before me - over 2 years ago! It is scarcely credible that this idea has not been progressed since that time.

Appreciate everyone chiming in on this, this is a big pain for users in the Midwest of the United States. It's such a minor item but causes great issues for our users of Waze.
Thanks for up voting!

As I sit in my office in Illinois, I can't edit the map to add the address in the HN area and have to rely on someone putting in the business name. I can't tell you the number of customers who get lost on their way here.

Yep, this has been a needed options for many years. It has gone through many lengthy requests on the beta boards, and the Waze forum.

For what it's worth, USPS recognizes alphanumeric addresses: https://pe.usps.com/text/pub28/28apd_004.htm

This is very similar to the need we have in in the US where some areas have house numbers that start with a cardinal letter (i.e. N,W, E,W). These are un-editable in WME if created by a user in the app.

Other than the fact that 2/3 of the land mass in Wisconsin and much of northern Illinois have addresses in either a partial grid (e.g. W8743) or full grid (e.g. N37W8743) format, users can create their own RPPs with these, but editors cannot. Very frustrating telling a user that they must do it themselves, we can't help. (We do have an ugly hack though: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Wisconsin#Alphanumeric_House_Numbers)
For Point and Area Places, we cannot use the in WME either. But there we can log into the app and fix the address there. With RPPs, you much be at the location.
Yes, would be nice to have HNs work too, but understand more coding is needed to do that due to indexing/sequencing. So just hoping for at least RPPs to, especially where GMap addresses (fallback search) are unavailable or way off.

It should allow any letter, allow HNs to start with a letter and allow hyphens as well.
For example: F14, E-66, I86A, 185DD, 199-A This applies to Puerto Rico. Also the HN field should accept at least 6 numbers, letters, -

Been asking for this for years. Hundreds of thousands of places can't have addresses entered because they start with a letter.

In addition, parts of Iowa have hyphenated HNs. For example, the primary HN might be 1248 each house on the street will have an additional number - 1248-1, 1248-2, 1248-3 etc. Here's a PL on an unnamed road with addresses from the closest street so RPPs are needed: https://waze.com/editor?env=usa&lat=42.40772&lon=-91.76387&zoom=6&segments=17360303,522819895

In the UK, houses can be named instead of numbered. This is very common in rural parts of the country.
When an App user adds a Residential Place they can add in House Names within the address field. When the Residential Place Update Request reaches WME, we can approve the PUR, but once it's been saved, we cannot edit it due to the restriction WME puts on the Address field (numbers only with letter suffixes). We can't even move the RRP, the only thing we can do is delete it.
This request is to allow House Names to be added and editable in RRPs within WME, to match the capability of the app.

App users can create RPPs with alphanumeric prefixes but WME allows neither the creation, nor editing of RPPs containing them.
Suggest at least allowing N, S, E, W prefixes on HN portion of an RPP to pass checks on save.
In Wisconsin, a large part of the state's addresses use alphanumeric HNs.
