An error occurred while saving the comment The lack of a pause feature is one of my biggest irritations with Waze. Seriously, how many votes will it take to get this added to your roadmap? It boggles my mind that 3525 votes and 10 years isn't enough.
An error occurred while saving the comment It's very annoying to have Waze repeating instructions over and over when I deviate temporarily from the route, such as going into a rest area or gas station. The current method of choosing "Shutdown" is counter-intuitive and even confusing. A "Pause" button would retain the originally route but suppress repeating directions and recalculations until the driver is ready to resume the route.

Sounds like you are using the "brief instructions" setting. There are navigation settings that will give you the street name (usually 2 or 3 times) before the turn. Check your settings.
