Respect newlines/paragraphs in the initial base text of Map Comments
Please make WME respect newlines entered in the initial base text of a Map Comment. Currently, WME preserves newlines entered in the comments following the initial base text, but not in the base text itself. Paragraph structure makes text easier to read, so please let us use it when creating Map Comments.

Elevation drop down opened on Ground level
If clicking on Elevation the drop down opens with 9, 8, 7.... It would be helpfull if the dropdown opened with Ground level in the middle so you can easily select 1, 2 or -1.

Segment History lacks detail
This is for Beta and Production:
When checking segment history, restriction changes such as HOV or passes do not include enough details. If you change whether a restriction is for a certain lane or all lanes, that should be displayed. This image is after changing the restriction from left lane only to all lanes. We should be able to see all changes to the restrictions in the history.

Waze needs Public Toilets
Waze app and map editor needs a new type of place: public toilet. Existing toilet attribute of the other places is not applicable to dedicated public toilets available in many large cities. Toilet place could be added into Professional and Public category. Preferably it would have some specific attributes like genders allowed or suitable, services (urinal, toilet seat, babycare table), price, wheelchair accessible, etc. but even just having the public toilet place available in the menu would be great starting point. Most often it would be a point place but somewhere in the world may exist area toilet places as…

Remove Headlights Required checkbox for countries where it's invalid
Only a few countries are configured to use the Headlights Required attribute on segments in WME.
Until recently, the checkbox was hidden for countries where that is not the case (the majority). Now it seems the code for that simple check has been removed and we all have it cluttering up the interface and confusing new editors who won't know what it means or why it's disabled.

Segments leading to a Junction box should be Splittable
Currently, when you try to connect an existing segment (segment E) to a segment leading to a Junction Box (Segment L), the WME won't allow to create a Junction.
On the other hand, creating a new segment (segment N), Segment L can be split, but then a saving error will happen (operation not supported).
This different behavior is confusing and it's not easy to understand why it is like that. This mostly looks like a bug to the user when the Junction box is far away and not even on screen.
To fix both problems, WME should allow splitting a…

Snapshot Mode vs Current Live Map
The latest release of WME includes relocated snapshot mode, with name changed to "Current Live Map". During beta testing this was pointed out to and noted by staff. Statement was made it would be corrected. Incorrect wording was pushed to production and needs to be changed back to Snapshot Mode.
25 votesAs part of the Tile Build Status, the name has been updated to Snapshot Mode.

Change formatting of forum sharing options
When an editor uses the new forum sharing options which is great, because of the order of the data on the request, valuable information is being overlooked.
For example, the current Unlock Request automatically fills in the following information:
Hi Editors,
I would like to be able to edit the following segment(s).
Your help would be greatly appreciated.Permalink: https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=usa&lat=29.63406&lon=-104.27920&zoom=5&segments=516527406

Unlock to level:Thank you in advance,
The "reason" and "unlock to level" kind of blend in.
My suggestions would be to

We've update the Unlock Request forum message to a more general message, and now auto-populate the "Unlock to level" field with the requesting user's level. Object types have also been added.

Cursor placement when adding a closure
When clicking Add Closure, it makes sense that the cursor automatically populates the Description text box ready for text entry - I'd guess that most editors would make the entry of a closure description the first thing they do when adding a closure, and it's becoming irrationally annoying having to click the text box to do this!
(Even more so now that there's a huge mouse journey from clicking the Closures tab right at the top, to the Add Closure button right at the bottom, back up to the Description box right at the top again.)

Support house number format eg, 123/45-67
In our area, there is an HN format that looks like 123/45-67, which is also used. However, I am unable to save the HN format in this way since WME provides an error that says, "The highlighted place has an invalid house number." Due to this, I am not able to add those kinds of house numbers in WME.

Hyphenated house numbers
The Waze Map Editor should add support for addresses with hyphenated house numbers like most of the addresses in Queens. Without hyphenation, addressing is less accurate than it should be.

Show user/app language with UR
In multilingual countries and areas, we never know what language to use when responding to a UR. A driver in Brussels may have their app in French, Dutch, English or German. Our editors are multi-lingual, but can't see which language to use. If we'd see the display language of the app, we'd know directly.

URL length limit – why?
The WME URL field for Places is limited to 100 characters. I'm not really sure why!
Most URLs will fit in this area, true. But some hotels have URLs longer than this. When I try to add one to a Place, it is truncated, so the URL does not work in Waze.
A hotel in my area has this URL:
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotel ... index.html
WME truncates it to this when pasting into URL box:
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotel ... ood-clearv
To compare them:
CODE: SELECT ALL
https://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/louisiana/hampton-inn-and-suites-new-orleans-elmwood-clearview-parkway-area-MSYELHX/index.htmlhttps://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/louisiana/hampton-inn-and-suites-new-orleans-elmwood-clearv
For a hotel in particular, websites can be difficult for searching for a particular location, and…

Reorder advanced WME settings
When Compact Mode was added, it was placed at the top of the advanced settings. The top settings should be those most likely to be used often. Compact Mode should go toward the bottom with the other settings less likely to be changed.
Red marks on the image are those items I think won't be changed often. https://imgur.com/wvHg0HY
Personal note - I change from drawing as one segments to two way segments often based on the roads I'm adding.

Have a checkbox to keep the Previous Map Build pop-up on screen
When I am doing a check on changes made to the map, I would like to switch between what was on the previous map build and current WME to see what the changes are. I know I can go to the Tile Build at the bottom and select it. However, in order to make sure I don't miss all the changes are, I strongly prefer to switch between previous map build and current WME several times, while keeping my eye in the same area.
With the current implementation, the moment I switch off Previous map build, the pop-up disappears, and…

Translate country names to appear correctly when using the app in languages other than English
Currently when viewing a place's address (street name, city, country), the country's name always appear in English no matter what the language setting you have. This should be corrected so that the country name appear on the correct language depending on what language is set for Waze.
12 votesThank you for your suggestion! Waze now supports many local languages. Please check under Settings > General > Language.

Sandbox Training Server
Not to be mistaken with the beta program.
The sandbox could be a dedicated space/server where editor levels don't apply (to a degree) and lower-level editors could experiment with the functionality of higher-level access. ie Junction Boxes, Far Lanes, Shields, etc.
Mentors could use it as a training ground.
Managers could use it for promotional tests
It would also be a good space to run simulations to test what you have put into practice. Editors could also test theories without affecting the end users in the live map.

JUNCTION BOX for R4 editors
JUNCTION BOX for R4 editors
It has been mentioned that JBs no longer require additional routing resources. Could we get them lowered at least one rank level to R4? This is an extremely useful tool, and should be more widely implemented to improve with routing ETAs all over. They are also now easier to implement and maintain with JB 2.0, pretty much as easy as any regular node junction.
Thank you.
