I completely agree with this, there are many large areas across the country that do not have cell coverage.
I have received many reports (and experienced it myself) where after driving a ways without internet the map does not have any tiles. If I hadn't downloaded an offline map from Google maps before my trip I would have gotten to my destination and then when I left had no idea where to go since Waze can't calculate a route offline. -

Offline navigation is a necessary feature for many large areas and some popular tourist attractions such as the Grand Canyon. Last time I went there if I hadn't downloaded an offline map from Google maps before my trip I would have gotten there and then when I left had no idea where to go since Waze can't calculate a route offline.
