I find ads not to be an issue. When ever the car is moving (even a little) the ads go away. They also don't appear on Apple Car Play.

This is a good comment and suggestion. Currently police notification with Waze is good for stationary only. Not moving. I'm not sure how moving notifications would work. One could make the notification of moving in the same direction or opposite direction, then Waze could calculate the position based upon the speed limit. But note that police usually drive 10-15mph over the limit on the highway. This should be good only for the next 5 miles. Each Waze user who reports it resets the distance.

Law enforcement cannot speeders at detect 1-2 miles out without aircraft. People can't see on a flat surface that far and police need to be able to see the vehicle to identify it. 600 feet is an unrealistic warning. However I find this is related to when a Waze user reports the location. I have found the warning quire adequate, Plus, you can see it on the display far ahead of when the audible notification is made.

Keep the First Amendment alive. I was a DUI law enforcement officer for 8 years. DUI is bad. There is no reason to drive intoxicated, particularly with Uber and Lyft. However we have the First Amendment which guarantees freedom of speech and expression. Posting DUI checkpoints is a freedom of speech. Don't cave to pressure to reduce or eliminate our constitutional rights.
