A more credible alert...
The following factors would give a "certainty" rating to each report:
* Number of wazers ahead of me (within .5-2 miles)
* Number of minutes since the alert was posted
* Number of "thanks" attached to report
* Whatever logic Waze uses to determine more credible users...15 votes -

instead of using feet when turn is less that 4/10 a mile a way it would be less confusing to use tenths of a mile.
it would be easier to use tenths of a mile before the turn than feet. until you are less than 1/10 th of a mile away. most other mapping programs do this and it is less confusing

There should be an option from group pages allowing you to invite your friends to the group.

Read/Write locations to NFC tags
Android app should be able to write/read NFC tags with locations.
In ideal case user should be able to run Waze and set navigation to specific address in just one NFC-touchIt's better to store universal GPS coordinates, address instead of Waze name so other apps can still use it if they want.

Suggest route home after an event
Similar to how it will suggest navigation before a planned drive, it would be great if it could detect the end of a calendar event and suggest a route home.

Add a day of week control to the Live Map
Traffic history on the weekends is not the same as on a work day. That makes it difficult for an editor to reproduce the reported conditions unless they wait for the next similar day.

Total number of vehicles and mean speed, both in real time, for every street AROUND A USER SELECTED POINT.
I would like to get, for a project, the traffic density in real time of each street or highway. In other words, what I need is to get a number, instead of a color (currently red, green, etc) indicating me the quantity of vehicles in every street, along with the speed of each one. It is, 2 numbers: total number of vehicles and mean speed, both in real time, for every street AROUND A USER SELECTED POINT. The user would be a custom program that would determine in advance, the possible conflict at every selected intersection.

Waze's own chat
I was picking up my little brother yesterday and in the meanwhile i noticed that if i didnt have to switch between whatsapp and waze in order to chat with people not interested in waze, it would be even cooler!
I mean. I may log in so i could contact "a friend" that i know is connected to waze for example, just to chat. The facebook friends list is awful, because .. what? 30% of your list uses waze? and when they wanna chat with you, they dont think of the waze-3.5-facebook chat a a good system, so i have…

Make map chats into a full messaging feature.
Map chats usually pop up and then disappear after a while, leaving no trace. I would like to be able to get back the chats I receive and respond to them later when I'm not driving. This would increase the 'socialness' of Waze and maybe even lead to making new friends on the road.
