If we had a pause function we can stop and get gas, snacks, etc. without hearing all the re-routing.

When I exit the highway "unexpectedly" and drive to a gas station or restaurant have Waze ask if I'm taking a pit stop and it needs to pause or if I want it to continue to give directions to get me back on track.

Add "Pause" button

Please fix the ridiculous feature that causes this app to momentarily pause, for reasons I still can't figure out, in the middle of a trip.

Whether I pull over to go to the bathroom, or get gas, or go to a store en Rroute, it should remain on and keep functioning the entire time.

I just drove 20 miles out of my way, because Waze paused, and when I got back on the road it was paused unbeknownst to me, and didn't tell me when I missed my exit.

Take a note from Google Maps. While it can be annoying at times, it never shuts down until you manually shut it down.

Anybody that drives on trips would understand that this needs to be an essential feature of this app.

If I'm doing something wrong, or there's a setting I need to know about, please let me know. I didn't develop this app, and I don't work for the company, so I may not know all the little ins and outs that I need to set to make sure this thing never pauses when I'm in the middle of a trip.

What possible reason would you have for putting this feature on this application? It is completely asinine and needs to go.

Is this a reality or still 'under consideration'? I looked for it today when I stopped for gasoline. Perhaps I need to get in the habit of muting the volume when I stop.

It would be nice if we could PAUSE the navigation with a single button, and REESUME it with the same button after a while.
This is very useful when I have already selected a destination and route but want to activate it from a certain location in the trip.

Must have for every navigation app.

That moment when you get into gas station, and waze starts to shout - TURN AROUND!! And everyone stalks you like creep... :D

This is a MUST HAVE option in WAZE. When I was on my long road trip, WAZE became a pain when I stopped for fuel or anything else. Now that I am home, I get aggravated with it when I make a last minute stop enroute to the location in WAZE as the only option I have is to silent WAZE or shut it down. We all know what shutting WAZE down means... reentering our destination. If I silence it, it never fails that I forget to change that and have to do it while driving.. seldom hitting the right button first and at times losing the app and I'm back to square one. Neither of these is helpful and the latter is something we should not be doing on the road and WAZE should have thought of this as it does not allow us to add a stop while driving alone. (Can you hear those at WAZE saying or thinking, "Ahhhhh, she's right. We should have thought of that.) That darn thinking thing surely messes us up at times, eh? :)

or maybe allow the user to set a time out timer for the program to close? I travel in fringe areas of cell service and sometimes it will shut down after loss of signal for a few minutes, so if I could set it to like 10 min's before shutting down I wouldn't have to keep restarting it.

While following a defined route, and making a designated stop at the gas station, in route, the application should ask if the driver prefers to continue going to the gas station, instead of returning him to the route, that was previously mapped out

I would like the capability to pause navigation.

Why?
I have a route from work to home. I need to make an errand, and stop off at the store.
I park my vehicle and take my phone with me into the store.
The Waze app is chirping about the re-route, and making the noise for everyone to hear.

Sometimes I just want to make a small detour (e.g. stop at a fuel station, bank, a quick stop). I don't need to stop navigation, nor do I want a bunch of Waze chirping chaos.

If I turn off of the navigation path to hit a filling station or fast food, I don't need the nagging about getting back on track. Give me a "suspend navigation" button, please.

The issue is that the "pause"/"sleep" currently available is an inane implementation from a user perspective. It is effectively just turning off the app (and replaces that former functionality). However, the former power button obviously closed the app and did so in fewer clicks. The newer sleep has no advantage over the previous version -- slower to implement, no faster to relaunch. If you don't click away from the app, it's too easy to accidentally "wake" the app, at least on iOS: any interaction with pop-over or pull-over interfaces registers as returning to the app and wakes it. And all the routes must be recalculated and reconfirmed by the user. If you were in the middle of a multi-stop route, only one destination is remembered. It is not an effective pause. It is quite frankly advantageous to the user, currently, to force quit the app when they want to pause (or stop) -- faster and less likely to respawn.

There is now, and has been for several months, a pause button that can be used to put the app "to sleep"
Is it possible to mark this suggestion as "implemented"?

All I'm asking for is a button to pause my route when I exit for gas/food/rest area. It gets annoying hearing "turn left, turn left, turn left, make a u turn, turn right" etc, etc when i just went off route for a minute or two. Pause and Resume. Simple as that.
