The setting to allow WAZE to access contacts should not be "HIDDEN" (by having to scroll up the opening page). should be in waze SETTINGS or under WAZE in iphone Settings. Instead one must go online and read where to find this setting!!

Nevigation For Emergancy Vehicles.
Emergancy vheivles can drive by different rules. emergancy vehicles can pass trough heavy traffic, go on some closed roads, and pass red lights. their estimated arrival time will be different than other vheicals, and it might somtimes be better for them to drive on a shorter way with more traffic, than going from a longer way that will pass around the trafic jams. it will be even better if the app will learn how each driver deal with heavy traffic, because one ambulance driver might pass it in 3 minutes, while other one will pass it in 6 minutes because…

New Icons for users
New icons like road work, fog area. As drivers passed next to it they can tap on the appropriate icon and update your map.
Also I would stonily suggest an Icon for Speed Camera to differ from your police icon.

Rest Area
There are two critical items missing from Waze that are available on all other GPS mapping systems (including navigation in my 2014 car):
1) Waze should show the distance to the next rest area on major interstates and highways in the USA. It helps drivers know if they need to stop sooner at a normal exit or wait until there is a rest area soon. I currently have to run BOTH my car and Waze app for this info and it is not good. Especially when Waze is more accurate for directions and time to arrival

Vindo de Pindamonhangaba para Penedo, o App me levou pela Estrada RJ-181, que por mais de 20km é uma via sem calçamento e de um único sentido (dentro de uma Zona Rural), sendo quase impossível passar com um veículo 1000 cilindradas como o meu.

Use ⛽icon to display station prices along route.
Add a ⛽ icon to main screen - when tapped, it would display gas prices from stations along your route within the next 50mi. Tap again to toggle off. Select preferred fuel type in settings. Current options are not driver friendly.

Bring back confirmation for search results
As of a few updates ago, waze now seems to take the "I'm feeling lucky" approach to navigation. At least with Android auto, with voice input, waze will automatically select what it thinks is the correct search result without showing the user the result (name and adress) and just immediately begins navigation.
The problem is that it is often wrong, such that I cannot trust any voice navigation commands at this point. I'd rather have back the original method of displaying the search results and having to tap the screen to select the desired one - it would be quicker…2 votes -

Use Yards instead of Feet
Please use yards instead of feet (at least for UK drivers). In UK miles/Yards/km is used, not feet for distance measuring. It's much easier to estimate when to action when the short distance is given in Yards. Or at least let the user's choose Miles/Yards in the settings. Thanks

advance direction when exiting a highway
When exiting the highway it would be SO helpful to announce the next direction much much earlier. For example, in ½ a mile, exit roselle road and stay to the right or stay to the left to exit. We have three plus lane exits and waze is telling me too late which lane to be in after exiting. Thanks!

I have an idea that will revolutionize navigation in cities and significantly benefit Waze users - predictive traffic light data.
By leveraging real-time GPS data from our massive user base, our app can start predicting traffic light patterns at intersections. Using algorithms to analyze when cars stop and start at lights, we can gradually build models mapping out sequences and wait times for traffic signals across entire cities.
