Green (Electirc Vehicle) on HOV
Hello Devs,
I am currently in Ontario. I drive an electric vehicle (with plate something like GVXX 123).
In Ontario, as far as I am aware of, all Electric Vehicles are eglible to use the HOV even if there's only the driver on the vehicle. I believe in British Colmbia is the same.By default, even if I have my vehicle type set as "Electric", Waze still try to navigate me outside HOV/Avoid HOV all together.
I understand everytime when I need to navigate to somewhere, the app will ask me "2+ People for HOV access". However in real life,…

Electric Scooters
Add Electric Scooter support, so it suggests best paths considering the speed limit of your model , and the local laws like going on pedestrian only roads, might work very good with bikes and e-bikes navigation.

Show satellite images in map editor. Sometimes roads are missplaced and only way to fix them is to compare with satellite images.

Design Limitations in Waze
Dear Waze,
I appreciate how Waze has improved real-time navigation, but it seems to be designed for experienced urban drivers who prioritize speed and can easily handle notifications. This may exclude and endanger those with different driving abilities and priorities. In this email, I outline four key design issues and suggest solutions to make Waze more inclusive. My observations come from personal experience with the platform and relevant academic research.

Map
Probleme avec la map, a chaque fois que je signal quelque chose, je ne vois plus mon kilométrage, le temps quil me reste à faire, ca ne fait que dire merci d'avoir signaler. Jme fiche du merci, jveux avoir mes infos. Vraiment désagréable, je dois fermer et reouvrir l'application, et renvoyer mon itinéraire a chaque personne concernée. On s'entend que ce ne devrait pas être, surtout sur la route! Tres désagréable!

Map display problem

Allow users to change hazard alert from ding To voice
Allow users to remove ding for hazard and back to custom or default voice for hazard announcements.

speedometer
Speedometer can be pinned to my phones entire display (during carplay). That way it’s easier to read at a glance. Perhaps what displays on your phone screen when connected to carplay could be fully customisable?

Screen ui
Instead of tiny buttons to confirm or deny, use a half screen red, half screen green transparent overlay making it possible to answer the alert without looking. It would increase usage and safety to this system.

Choice of colours for arrow icon
I would like there to be a choice of colours for the arrow map icon. It's easier for me to see yellow against the blue map.

Non-unique icon for other Wazers on the road
I think one slight improvement would be being able to make others Wazers appearance customisable. I would much prefer other Wazers appearing as white dots, for example. I still get to see how many and where other users are around me, but the icons aren't too distracting, and aren’t mistaken for emergencies at a quick glance. As a software engineer myself I assume that this would not be too hard to do, as it’s 90% client-sided- 10% being settings storage functionality in the cloud.

Tagging editors in a map comment
It would be nice if there was a possibilty to tag an editor (e.g. an AM) in a map comment box. A type of alert can be a notification or an email, depending on the user's settings.

speed control
Instead of just a small circle of red around the speed when the driver is exceeding the limit, the entire screen could flash red . This would make it more obvious to the driver that they are speeding. Not all navigation screens are high set.

Ajouter "route fermée"
Il faut ajouter rapidement le signalement "route fermée" au menu Android auto, sinon l'application ne recalcule pas le trajet et on est perdu

Alert ahead fones show dismissal option
When there is an alert of construction, accident, police warning or shows “[incident] ahead in nnn meters” and then you can only push “still there” or “do not exist”… but how one will know if this is ahead!?!? There is no option like “ask me later” or dismiss… it should not ask if this is there BEFORE I pass the incident!
