Wazer message notifications (i.e. private messages) need to be more visible to be effective
In the Past few days I've "private messaged" wazers who were ahead of me on a route to find out about traffic conditions or a slow downs. These messages went unanswered. I didn't think anything of it at the time. This morning on the way into work I just happened to go to "My Waze" to view my ranking... and saw that I had a Private Message from another wazer- from 10 days ago - and never knew it. כשנוסעים הוויז מכוון לפי ק"מ או מייל ולא לפי פניות
ישנה בעיה הנקראת דיסקלקוליה שלא מאפשרת לאנשים לאמוד מרחקים אני יכולה להעיד על עצמי שקשה לי להבין מתי לפנות על פי ק"מ והייתי שמחה אם תוכלו להוסיף את האופציה למשל:

Add a "turning" camera in addition to red light and speeding cameras.
Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY has at least two cameras to ticket drivers that make a turn where there is a "no left turn" sign. Perhaps waze can add an option for such cameras.

Detour capability
I would like for the ability to determine a detour to the current route. For example, if the highway you are on is blocked, slow or closed due to an accident, you can push a detour option/button and select the distance of the detour (1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles...) or maybe the system can suggest the detour length based on what it knows of the traffic conditions ahead. Once your determined detour distance is exhausted, you are routed back to your original route. Many GPS Nav systems today have this capability/feature and is very useful.…

navigation option for only part of journey
When putting in destination have choice to limit navigation to only portions of the journey. I may be in a strange place and not know how to get on the route home, or I may be home, know how to get close to my destination but not the last few miles.

Work hard to get public services (CalTrans, CHP, Sheriff) to contribute Waze reports
Road conditions are NOT routinely reported by public officials and they SHOULD be. How to encourage that?
Also, road condition notations disappear from livemap if not re-reported, it seems. Thus even though road conditions remain significantly deviant from normal, they are no longer noted at all after a day or two. Is this IF there are not continual reports?
I think reports of deviations from normal should REMAIN noted until there is a report of RETURN to normal function.

This is an assisted process
Waze just did something beautiful today. He/She/It asked me "Are we going to XXX place?" I've been waiting for that kind of event. Technology should be doing much more work than we are actually experiencing. Waze should not be just a navigator but a road assistant. A rolling Siri. Not just an interface but a behavior. Not an app but a mate.
In that line of thinking, Waze could be more playful. Not just telling you where to go, but adding value because Waze knows you. For example, If Waze is responsible enough for remembering not to leave your child…

Add erattic driver on the road as a hazard
When you see some one driving erratically it would be a good way of communicating the concern.

Go back to telling us to turn right and left with updates on distances to turn. The update recently now does not do that taking my eyes off
The new update no longer tells us to turn right or left, just says "and then" which takes my eyes off the road so I can view the screen. I really liked having a back seat driver. Please put that back

Rewards for taxi driver traffic status input
Why should taxi drivers be able to rely on other drivers in their surroundings to update them on the fastest route, when they don't contribute back?

The recent update of WAZE is pretty slick, but I do have one concern. Moving the access to friends from the bottom right of the home screen

Currently, If you want to see your friends online, you can access it through the search tab on the bottom left corner, then hit the forward arrow next to your name on top, then scroll down to the menu to find "My friends." High contrast day & night
I like the night-time, high contrast colors. None of the daytime color settings have enough contrast. How about a "forever night" setting, or a daytime super-high-contrast option?
