Quick-report presets
The amount of phone interaction required for reporting is a bit onerous while driving. Tap to Report > select category > add optional additional info > send. I often skip reporting altogether to avoid distracting from driving.
I would love to see the ability to have one-touch presets for making reports from the main screen. A single tap to mark & send a report on an accident, hazard, or speedtrap, etc.
User might even be allowed to customize which presets are present and/or include specific text (i.e. "Left lane closed") for frequent events.

We plan to work on Quick-report presets in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

It takes *way* too many clicks to submit an event... i.e. a vehicle stopped on shoulder takes *5* clicks to submit. Same with a hidden cop on the other side of the road.
This is way too many clicks and causes us to have to take our eyes off the road for too long. And is next to impossible while riding a motorcycle.
I propose a user configurable one-click interface where the user can paste simple a layer of one click icons (or one click and slide confirm ala the gopro lock screen), of their choosing, on the main screen.
When I have voice navigation on, I'm not too worried about seeing the actual map route so I wouldn't mind the loss of map real estate on screen. It's more important and safer that I can quickly submit an event. But a bottom row button that hides the one-click layer would be sufficient to get back to the map.

Hello,
Is it possible to have listed the last used report types, e.q. Police, Pothole, Road Works etc. ?
It would be very helpfully to not choose every time what kind of danger you want to report. Many thanks!

Hi!
Right now the map shows a warning icon that something is happening on the road. Therefor I have to tap it open to see what is going on. That takes me few seconds to aim my finger and then tap it and then read it.
It would be much better if I could set it in my preferences to see the event type on the map instead of an exclamation mark. Just like I can see a police icon on the map.
Thanks!

On a divided highway this isn't as important on the right shoulder, but critical on the smaller left shoulder. You should be able to indicate left or right shoulder.

On the "Reports Ahead" page, it would be nice to tap on the incident report to zoom immediately to where it was reported.

Would love to have a way to report Police engaged in a Traffic Stop. In Texas (and many other states in the USA) there is an obligation to either reduce speed or change lanes. This would be helpful in planning lane changes and slowdowns if I was notified there was an Officer ahead engaged in Traffic Stops.

I don't know how these suggestions get bumped up, but this one could certainly do with a bit more attention.
On the grounds of safety alone, this would be a great idea.
I'd suggest, users should be able to customise these icons/buttons so that, rather than having to press a number of buttons to report a hazard, it can be done with just one click.
Just got to work out how to grab the developers eye now.

This is the my biggest complaint with the app. Some form of one-touch reporting for common events police reports, both lanes and generic hazards on road or shoulder need this. The other reports, like vehicle stopped on shoulder are generally useless and in all honesty people reporting these are probably making themselves a hazard.
With the increasing number of states with hands free laws time spent reporting things becomes an issue as the laws are written so that playing with anything (a phone, radio, GPS...) could be considered a violation. This is a good thing, so if you can minimize the activities and time to report that would be great!

Your method of reporting hazards is a hazard itself. It's the equivalent of sending a text. If you could have quick buttons on the screen for 'vechicle stopped on road' and 'police spotted' my life would be less at risk.

There's another thread - same topic - started a few years back. Let's not dilute votes - this is a great idea, totally agree with you!

Currently one has to tap, for example 5 times in order to report a "Hazard" like "Vehicle stopped" on the "Shoulder". No need to stress that this entails irresponsible "Hazard" on itself due to the distraction required to report. "Vehicle stopped" is the single frequent alert I am getting, so it might be worth to reduce the number of tapping. A number of other Apps do utilize simplyfied alert reporting. Thanks you in anticipation.

Please make a user-defined button available on the main screen for frequently used reports. This reduces the number of button presses it takes to report common hazards which reduces time spent looking at the app.

Since probably 19 out of 20 of my reports are vehicles on the shoulder and this requires a dangerous and distracting four button selection and push to report. How about a "hot" button in the upper right corner I could set up to report this most common situation with one button click and not even have to look at the screen?

when your driving on the highway, if you see an object on the road, (in my case a dislodged muffler) you can tap the screen and pin point the spot where it was found.

I would love if this was available. I am surprised that there was not more traffic on this issue. I wish we could somehow reinvigorate this discussion. Custom "favorites" on the home screen would be extremely helpful.

During the commute I often encounter a slowdown and would suggest your app does a couple of things:
1. very quick way to report "x of y lanes obstructed"
2. waze should "observe" my route and immediately observe all waze "fleet" and "learn" how we are either getting stuck or how we are skirting around the obstruction -

It's dangerous to had to go thru various screens to find the report while driving.
Make some favorite icons on the main screen for easier and safer reporting.
After all, these reports is what makes this app great. -

I think that using the report button is a safety issue.
Is it possible to get one touch button for the most used buttons?
The most common we use is the traffic, police and danger.
1 - moderate traffic
2 - visible police
3 - car on the side of the road -

If we could get access to reporting via API, a physical device could be built with custom buttons for simple and super-fast reporting. Example, see a road hazard on your side of road? Press a physical button. See a police car? Press a physical button. This would help others tremendously and no doubt increase the number of reports.
