Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

note that android "accessibility" enables pinch-zoom (very handy) ... or consider getting "driving" glasses (bifocal or multifocal glasses designed to improve instrument reading)

Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2023 and this idea won't be implemented this year. We hope to have it included in our plans for later years and will keep you posted.

This is a good idea ... planned in 2012?
I don't want any app to have unconstrained access to the contacts in my phone.
I'd be okay with adding a handful of "buddies" for driving purposes (people I meet at events or when I am picking up someone, to let them know my ETA without Waze having full access to all contacts and then indiscriminately deciding who I know or who might know me, etc. ... nope nope nope.) -

I'd like to have a driver mode for young/novice/unfamiliar/safety-conscious drivers.
1. a "young driver aid" mode to avoid two-way stops, avoid left turns in complex multi-lane intersections with high-speed oncoming and cross traffic, trams/trolley cars, etc., avoid roads like Fulton and Geary where drivers are erratic, driving much higher than the speed limit, etc.
2. an "unfamiliar" mode (to avoid tricky routes where waze users often miss or struggle to achieve the intended route because of difficult lane changes, obscure ramps, or when driving in an unfamiliar city or neighborhood
3.

Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

I am driving an electric vehicle and have a few ideas:
1. route for least hills
2. fleet learn from other EVs to improve range
3. Tesla already uses Google Maps -- integrate with their EV (API?) to get range and utilization (efficiency) data to improve commutes and feedback on battery state
4. Allow users to manually set up their EV in the app and prompt for "did you get a full charge overnight" or "please update actual battery % or rated range estimate, currently 288 miles, actual?"
5. Learn "destination charging" and "destination parking" for manual EV setup behavior (e.g. amount of charging overnight, where and when to charge ... "hey, you're going to xyz shop, there's a chargepoint free for one hour of parking three flat blocks' walk from your destination ... do you want to route to that EV charging/parking location?"

We plan to work on Quick-report presets in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

During the commute I often encounter a slowdown and would suggest your app does a couple of things:
1. very quick way to report "x of y lanes obstructed"
2. waze should "observe" my route and immediately observe all waze "fleet" and "learn" how we are either getting stuck or how we are skirting around the obstruction

Hudway is not the way forward for Head Up Displays. It's a wildly overpriced gimmick (another term for which is "kickstarter project") ... just a piece of plastic that reflects the phone screen and relies upon the phone being able to mirror its display. Pfft! Junk. If it was $9.99, okay, fine, if you want to look like a twit trying to fiddle with your phone while it's sitting precariously out of reach on the dash, waiting to be a ballistic projectile when you get into an accident while trying to clear an alert from the screen or interact with the nav app to reroute to a faster route, etc.
I think the HUD solution is a transparent, flexible phone display filament (as LG and Samsung have produced) driven by screen cast already built into all Android and iOS (airplay or googlecast.)
