Idea:
Add a new feature in Waze that lets users add friends and see each other’s live location directly on the Waze map — similar to Snapchat’s Snap Map or a GTA V online lobby.
How it works:
Users can add friends through usernames, phone numbers, or QR codes.
Once connected, you can see your friends’ cars moving live on the map while they’re driving with Waze.
You can tap a friend’s icon to get ETA to their location or message them (“on my way”, “meet here”, etc.).
Privacy controls let users choose who can see them (e.g. “Visible to friends”, “Hidden”, or “Only while navigating”).
Optional group mode for road trips or meet-ups, showing everyone’s live progress on the same route.
Why it’s cool:
Makes driving and meeting up more social and fun.
Perfect for road trips, convoys, or events where everyone’s on the move.
Combines Waze navigation + real-time friend tracking in one app — no need to switch between Waze and Snapchat or Life360.

Hey Waze team, I really love the small fellow-Wazer icons on the map, but I think it would feel a lot more alive if those icons moved in real time instead of just showing static or delayed positions. It would give a stronger sense of driving together as a community and make the map feel dynamic — like you can literally see the flow of other Wazers around you. Even with privacy safeguards (like anonymized icons or a toggle for visibility), this small change could make Waze feel more social, engaging, and connected to the real world in the moment

I would love it if we had a feature where we could add friends who use waze and then invite them to the drive itself, once they join, we can see their location and their ETA, their icon as well. Kinda like a game. This would be fun for car clubs who go on drives and fun for people who go on drives with their friends as well. It's hard to describe the feature in detail but as a programmer myself, it will definitely be a fun addition and if someone whos played car games can definitely understand what im talking about. Like imagine just opening the app choosing a location, inviting your friends, maybe add stops or notes to the drive and just get set and go...

A convoy mode would indeed be great and add safety to a roadtrip!

I've been taking a lot of road trips with friends lately and thought of a fun and (relatively) easy-to-implement idea for Waze. You know the progress bar that shows how far you are through traffic? What if that same bar could be duplicated and alternatively show where your friends are on their routes when you're all heading to the same destination? It would be a great way to track everyone’s progress at a glance without constantly texting or checking in. It could be fun to know if you're about to pass one of your friends, or just simply know how far back someone is or whether they have arrived.

O aplicativo poderia possuir uma opção de "comboio "(situação de viagens longas) onde o usuário poderia adicionar outros que possuem o aplicativo em uma área de "Amigos" e selecionar os Amigos de sua lista para iniciar uma viagem.
No mapa mostraria cada veículo adicionado ao comboio e a velocidade dos mesmos e na parte de baixo do layout poderia possuir um botão de alerta, caso um dos veículos estivesse com problemas ou se tiver alguma interferência na pista

I dont think this would be that useful in the way presented, but a shared destination and notification if a car adds a stop then it could present the option to add the stop to the other car.

It would be useful for Waze to allow sharing a route among multiple cars, facilitating coordination and group travel.

Would love to see a feature for multi-car navigation sharing. EX: my Boy Scout troop frequently travels some distance for monthly camp outs. To fit everyone, we are often spread across 4-5+ vehicles. It can be difficult to keep track of the other vehicles, especially if some stop or take different routes. It would be nice if each vehicle could join a Waze Group where they would all be given the same route and could see where the others are in relation to them (distance and time wise) A hands free way to communicate between the vehicles would also be a nice bonus.

Caravan or convoy mode
Allows groups of wazers that are friends that are going to the Same place to have group directions and share group information
See the slowest convoy member (the slowpoke)
Allow for group messaging
Alerts when convoy members join the convoy or get off the route or stop for gas

Indeed, a Convoy or Roadtrip mode for when you have a group of cars all on the same trip(multi family vacations), there should be a Leader or Route controller. This is the person who can invite others and alter the route being taken. The people invited should only be able to view the route but not alter it. Also they should be able to suggest a stop or send a quick notice when a pit stop is needed. There should also be an alert for the Leader if someone drops too far back ( distance set by the route leader).

It would be great to be able to invite friends using a code to a convoy - to be able to have the same destination and see where each other are along the route - maybe even their speed too? Let me know if anyone else likes this idea but would be cool.

Go trip with friends? Lets say 5 cars. You choose one car as a leader of the group and everyone can follow him on the map (the leader is a spot on display map). It very good idea when you don't choose where to go trip or in case the place is not with correct adress
