Hide notifications older than XX hours.
I've seen reports that are a couple hour up to 24 hours old. It'd be nice to be able to have an option that lets users choose the age limit of notifications they'd like to see.
Display duration for each notification is directly dependent on number of upvotes and ‘not there’s. The more upvotes a report has, the longer it is displayed on the map and vice versa.

I agree with the ideas of 'greying' unless it is confirmed. A bit like speed camera confirmation. It might be a bit difficult if the road is closed with a detour in operation, but better than having old incidents on. The default could be set for different events - car on hard shoulder etc.

I will want minute granularity

I cannot wait for feed managers. I would rather be my arbiter of filtration

How about a 'review in' time period for certain categories. Maybe 1 hour for accident, if after this time no one has 'confirmed' it then the it starts to decay, maybe even start to get greyed out until it disappears.

these events are long-term (road works etc) if you write in the comment, that it is ended, the feed managers will remove it

hide older than XX minutes would be preferable until a method of voting down accidents that no longer exist
