Different map colors
Please bring back the map colors. I'm tired of looking at gray and blue.

Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

It would be nice if we could personalise the app a little bit more. This could be done by giving us different colour options and/or different themes (minimalist, modern, classic etc.). I think it would be very cool to be able to have the map look exactly how I want it to. Of course it would be best if the changes also are seen on Apple Carplay/Android Auto.

I am not sure how many times this suggestion may have appeared on this page. It might have been deleted several times.
But various color schemes for the map could solve many visualization issues.
Please allow users to select route coloring, background coloring, heck color the speed limit sign. Add it within the corny "Customize your drive" feature, where sound is important to a map app for some odd reason and not visualization.
This app is for the most part great but it would be a no brainer to pick if:
Customizations where everywhere, simply this is what makes an app great! (Android users, cough cough). Please consider, thanks!

Add a color editor for the colors of the map display with the option to save as a "custom" color schema.
I use Waze mostly via CarPlay and the default Waze colors really don't fit the car's interior and other screen interfaces. I would like to be able to customize the colors. A simple color customization interface would be perfect. Adding the option to save the color schema as a "custom" would be nice.
If you want to go all the way: Add an option to share your custom color schemas with the community. For example, I edit the colors to fit my car, save it as "car brand and model", then "share it with the community", then it becomes available in a special "custom color schemas" menu list, so everybody using Waze can actually start using it.

I love the editor theme but I really wish I could change the road colours and the general colours. Such a shame IOS is so picky

Yes please!! It is possible to do it but it involves rooting your device and I'd rather not do that

Google can't keep up, and they know it. That's why they bought you. Just take over their map and color scheme as payback! I'm sure they won't care. They can't manage accidents and roadwork without you having to click on directions for all the good stuff to show up. As a bonus, take their stuff and make it usable again. Bonus! colors as they should be.

Please add more themes for daytime and night navigation. Actually the night theme is vers good, but there could be more daytime themes.

Please bring back map color schemes! Also allow the user to create their own customized map color schemes!! I would love to customize the map before my trips!! Thank you

When you calculate alternative routes, you get a List view and a Map view. On List view you can see approximately how congested the routes are, but you don't see where exactly are the congestions. In current Map view, you don't get any info about traffic jams. It would be very useful to have color coded map of the selected route in Map view, maybe also small dots to shows warnings, accidents and other infos sent in by the users.

befor tips one - give normal option in you app to send you feedback
1. your map has a lot ditales that disturb. maybe you can change them to collor that take less attention form the driver.
2. when the screen is on width the way that on screen is anyway smaller then the screen is on length, and a lot of the rode is cover by your design, the line in up the screen that shows when the next turn it all over the width of screen from side to side, it can be more smaller just on one side.
3. whay the massage on polis shows 40 minutes before? it's totaly unnecessary.
4. it's plates on the rode that they on renovations, it's not shows on waze.
5. wehn I seat in home and look how much the travel takes, the estimated time is very confusing. no stop resting, no gas stations, no restroom, no traffic jam unexpected.
maybe you can show to different times just in the start, the estimated time of arrivel and average arrivel time of people (that you have in your system).
6. most important - In the rode you warning one kilometer before turn, 400 meter, and 200 meter, any time. it's not smart. because when I drive slowly you disturb me a lot time beafore no reson. and when I drive very fastly in rode that hase a lot lane and trafic it's can be too late.
my advice is to calculate the speed of the car and if he drive speed the warning need to be maybe 1.5 kilometer before, and if it solwly it's need to be maybe just 600 meter before.
7. If it's a lot small streets and the waze says 'in 400 meter torn right' if I don't look in the screen I can't know for shure when to turn. you can say more clear like 'turn in the crown street or third street from here, or somting else.
the principle is that speek of waze will be so clear and un mistakes that people can drive with waze even they don't look on the screen. -

Be able to stop Navigation. New update does not allow that. Would also like to choose colors on display map that previous version of Waze allowed. Now only dull and duller. Thanks

Allow editing in Waze to change the colouring of the maps to give more choices than the set offerings for both night and day maps.
Easy method to pick and set colours for all attributes to allow customs map schemes to be made without tweaking the text files or importing them in.
