Lane closure reports made easy
I'd like a report button that would indicate lane closures.
Could press to report the beginning of the lane closure, then press again to report the end.
Then you indicate whether it's the left, right, or center lane.

We plan to work on having an option to report a lane closure in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

Lane closures on the highway

I have a suggestion for the feature for reporting road closures: Don't restrict me to certain selections of locations. I recently encountered a road closure right in front of me, and tried to report it. It wasn't on the far side of an intersection. It wasn't to the right or left of the next intersection. It was right in front of me on the section of road I was already on. Let me report it where it is. Don't restrict me to an intersection. Don't restrict me to the far side of anything. Let me use my finger on the touch screen to report it where it actually is. You may restrict me to some reasonable distance of my current location. But that's all.

Just spent almost 2 hours in traffic to go <15 miles for two different lane closures. Knowing which way to merge might help.

Just spent an hour navigating around a freeway shutdown there is no way to mark and ext/on ramp as closed. WAZE kept routing me to onramp. This meant alternate routes were not avaliable to me as the application kept trying to route me back to the closed on ramp.

Add Lane Closure and Road Closure options under the Construction and Accident reporting sections.

McNicoll Ave. west of Victoria Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) has been narrowed down from one lane east and one lane west to just one lane (due to construction or whatever), so cars going in the opposite direction have to take turns in using the only lane that is left - first all the cars going east wait, then all the cars going west wait. This has been going on for many months. There is no way to indicate this particular situation in Waze, but people have indicated "construction" or something like "lane closures", or - can't Waze just see there is a permanent standstill there??
Yet, Waze keeps insisting I take that route. Most times, I trust it (thinking - maybe the lane reduction has ended), and end up wasting AT LEAST THIRTY MINUTES standing still on a stretch of the road that used to take 5 minutes to get through. Any other route I try taking gets me to my destination much faster (duh!)
Please fix this already! Otherwise, not sure I can keep trusting Waze to get me to my destinations faster than the alternatives.
Thank you. -

I agree that would be a great idea!

Additionaly, even if it is mapped as two 'one way' segments, it might be good to allow them both to be closed, or even if just the other direction has an accident, there should be a way to close it.

I think it would be a great option that when you go to close a road, if the road you are closing is a 2 way segment then there should be a pop up asking if the closure is one way or both directions. I reported a closure today and the app only made it one way when it was actually both ways.

About a week ago I tried to report a road block, but coudln't since I had to continue driving and the app lets you report just if it's near you. I think it's should be possible to report a road is blocked, even when you are far away -

Sometimes I am redirected because of a road closure, but after I have left that roadway. We should be able to select any road in a 1-2 mile radius for closure and the users behind us will be informed before they get trapped in a long line of people unaware of the closure.

Yes! With landslides and flooding happening in my area, I am gathering information from all over. If I could enter it into Waze before selecting my route, it would help me as well as all the other Wazers in my area.
We should be able to post a road closure along any route that we have driven and if it is verified by more than one other Wazer, it should become part of the routing information.
This should be possible to do with a mobile device, not just from the editor on a desktop. -

Lane 1 should always be the far left lane (or closest to center to account for my anglo friends), and then increase from left to right (or out from center) - this will allow for varying number of lanes. Lane 1 is always closest to center.
So when you post an accident, you can tag ig: "Lane 2". If there are four or five lanes, I know I need to get over to the right to minimize the impact to me. -

In 2D view one-way streets have arrows showing their direction, however in 3D mode this arrow is not displayed. I would like to see these arrows in 3D mode as well, because when I navigate, the Waze App is set to 3D view, and arrows are not visible. Knowing if a street is one-way can be useful during navigation. Please make arrows to be visible in 3D viee as well.
