Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I believe that changing the name from "Roadkill" to "Deceased Wildlife" will bring more humanity of explaining the action of accidentally killing a "living thing" on the road. I want future generations to embrace the understanding that those animals are also part of this world and that unfortunately were killed by mistake and should not just be treated as just a "roadkill". I don't think anybody wants to purposely kill a dear or any other wildlife on the road at the risk of loosing his or her own life. In my view, the term "roadkill" takes away the humanity of such horrible actions.

Keep Road Kill - is one of the more humorous comments I’ve heard. Also I hit a huge dead dog on night in a sports car and I went up on two wheels. This can be dangerous or humorous and either way it’s useful😢😜

This is a great idea! It’ll help save the animals and cause less accidents!

Use your data to inform users about high road kill areas.
This results in cautionary driving in these areas, less accidents/injuries due to animals in the road, and, it’ll save these animals from getting killed.

Bonjour,

Although there is road signs, there is no indication of the exact location of crossings of wild animals. Thus, I propose the possibility of the user being able to insert temporary warning to alert drivers about the presence of them, in order to avoid accidents and run over

Just saw a moose on on off ramp and it was sudden. He was dangerously close to the road and I didn’t mark it immediately as he surprised me. I should be able to go back and mark the spot for the safety of others

As the Phoenix Metro area continues to expand into land that was virgin desert, we are having to deal with the coyotes and bobcats who called these areas, “Home”. Unfortunately, rather than heading deeper into the desert, these creatures have discovered that outdoor cats and small dogs doing their, “Business” in their walled backyards to be easy prey. Even in heavily populated neighborhoods where homes were built 25+ years ago, an astounding number of people are dealing with the grief of losing a friend and furry family member.
My husband came up with a great solution! He bought two coyote-proof dog run kits, assembled them, and used the remaining materials to build a safe tunnel that connects our new, “Doggie Fun House” to our doggie door. In it he placed a square piece of articifical grass, where our doggies can do their business without risking becoming prey.
I learned from a specialist at the Arizona Game & Fish Department that the best solution involved neighbors uniting and agreeing to spend just a few minutes a day performing simple tasks that will render our neighborhood less appealing to coyotes. I thought Wave would be of great assistance in our efforts to keep our pets safe, and would create a new group of appreciative, loyal, users.

Cassowary, ionic bird from the rainforest of south Eastern Asia are been killed on Australian roads, daily. Technology like Waze could allow users to record a cassowary sighting and then in real time warn other drivers of the hazard ahead. This would be a win for the cassowary, the driving public, scientific research and the world would be a little better. Spottedwild.com has rhe vision,Waze could make this happen

When you are on a high-speed road and the traffic stops suddenly, show a notification alerting you. Sometimes it happens due to traffic jam, crash, animal, whatever...
