Translucent screen Icons to prevent Screen Burn/Ghosting
My SGS II has slight screen burn from the lower icons in the corners.
Is it possible to make the icons darker or slight translucent to prevent screen burn/ghosting, Maybe it is a good idea to make this for every static object within the waze screen.
Thank you for your suggestion!
The Report button was designed to be noticed while blending in and it’s important to keep it as is.
However, we will revisit this idea when working on Dark mode, in the future. Furthermore, since this is a physical issue that OLED phones suffer from in different apps, we recommend to use Battery Saver mode to allow your display some rest from bright colors that might lead to this dysfunction.
Stay tuned for more features and updates on Waze’s social pages on Facebook and Instagram.

This should be a relatively simple fix to add. While it's not possible to detect which type of screen is being used in Android (or at least there's not a simple API available for it), it wouldn't hurt to provide this as an option. It might even look good. Considering the increase in oled screens, this would give Waze an edge over other applications.

This NEEDS to be resolved. I wish I could vote 1,000. Times instead of only 3.

Waze not only burns the lower bright icons, but the top directional bar also. The new OLEDs to my understanding are really susceptible to screen burning. Maybe the programmers can blur the sharp lines and change the colors of the icons from time to time.

I agree. I now have permanent images from Waze usage on my phone. I try letting it run in the background when the screen shuts down, but the app shuts itself off after a short period of time. Something needs to be done.

Agree. My Galaxy Note has the two icons burned on the screen. Also, if I try to use it with the screen locked to avoid this, Waze app exists after a couple of minutes.

Agreed - translucent or hidden and activated only after touch. Or at least make it a user option (like the speedometer).

Agreed, big time. This is costing people money by damaging their phones.
