Weather overlay
I would love to have a real time weather overlay on the WAZE maps. This would be a GREAT feature to add to aid in knowing more about driving conditions. Please vote and let's see what we can do to make it happen.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Waze is great but it would be even better if the current weather was included. That way you could change your route if you wanted to avoid bad weather.

Request for waze to add "Heavy Rain" to it's list of hazards. Tonight I had Zero visibility because of the rain and was on a freeway! a Waze heads up would have been nice.

Choose best time slot for proper weather condition or avoid mountains in case of snow

Connect with weather services and provide anticipated temperature and conditions along the route. I.E. Each turn display anticipated temp and conditions (clear, rain, sleet, snow). Would be great info for long car trips!

A bit old suggestion, but still quite relevant.
Could be great to avoid the rain (especially on the long routes), or even avoid even the wet roads (if you want to enjoy a nice trip on the bike.) ;) -

It would be a good idea when users send a report under the Weather to also include Light Rain, Thunderstorm and/or Heavy Rain because living in South East Asia, we only get those. Thank you.

Option to add road weather conditions - for snow, heavy rain, strong winds, icy road, fog

A wonderful idea, seems pretty simple and would be so helpful.

thoughts on implmentation: Need access to elevation data. That's already in Google someplace because Earth has it exposed to users. Already have endpoints for road segments which implies length is obtainable. For short segments, just need elevation of endpoints. If segment is longer than some appropriate distance, need to derive midpoints to check for internal hills. Then use elevation and length to put a slope absolute value on every segment, and avoid segments that have any internal slope higher than some value (maybe 5%?).
Benefit cases in addition to original post ones: heavy towing, slippery conditions. Just imagine how much fun Seattle or San Francisco must be if it snows....

Track the weather along a route- if conditions are bad, give you a better time to travel instead.

The only options we have now in Florida are fog and flooded road. We need Heavy Rain

You could make this an option to use. Those not wanting it could disable it, but I would LOVE this feature. I currently have to use a separate app and try to estimate where we are on the road. If bad weather is ahead I could choose to exit the road and get to a safe location rather than having to pull off on the side of the road during bad weather and possibly put us in harms way.
Please, please, please...make this feature available.

Drove into a hail storm yesterday and had to keep switching apps to find a route to avoid weather.

A notification for when road conditions are hazardous because of the weather. Thunderstorm, fog, hail, snow, flooding, and zombies could pose problems on the road.

Weather overlay would put u above all others. Big time saver from flipping back and forth

I live in Florida, and rain is THE hazard. Snow is what people come here to avoid. Rain is FAR of a hazard than some guy parked on the shoulder.
OBTW, this page suffers from WDD (web designer's disease), everything so "clean", nothing can be found.

This would be a very convenient addition to the Waze platform.
