I realize Waze can show the speed limit on screen and alert when a user goes over the speed limit, but the app does not make any kind of auditory alert when there is a speed limit change (ex: “The speed limit is now 70 MPH”)

Such an alert would be useful because if a driver could know that the speed limit has been, say, raised from 60 to 65, he or she can then drive faster sooner. It might otherwise take 5 or 10 minutes before the driver notices the speed limit was raised - by seeing this on the screen.

It would be great to have a notification about change of speed limit, the same as hazard on the road notification (for example "in 800 meters speed limit is 50"). This way you would know when you should decrease your speed instead of hitting brakes once you suddenly reach new speed limit.

I use ways extensively. And find I'm having issues staying in control of the speed limit. Lol
Wouldn't be too difficult to have speed alert changes like you do railroad crossings?

A speed limit change alert would help with not getting tickets, I travel a lot and don't often see changes in the speed limit due to traffic blocking the signs as i pass. A simple alert sound would let me know to look at my phone for a sec for the new posted speed and slow down or speed up accordingly.

Similar to how upcoming speed camera notification is announced 100 mtr ahead, why not announce speed limit change 100mt ahead which will help users a lot since there might be a camera right after speed limit change.

I recently had to bare the brunt of this by paying speeding fine as there was a speeding camera right after the speed change.

A very useful feature if you could (which I am sure you can) implement.

Exactly - must have feature! Add voice speed limit change alert.

Use voice alerts to advise uses of speed limit changes

I hope this will include speed cameras?

Create advanced speed limit sound notifications submenu:
1. Repeat warning sound each 10 sec until slow down
2. Change sound - shout, alarm, simple ding, etc.
3. Option may be switched for professional drivers

Currently Waze will notify you when you have exceeded the limit. Even that sound is not loud enough.
But once exceed the limit, it never warns you again till you drop below the speed limit and exceed.

What I suggest is that Waze warn the driver every 50 seconds you are driving over the speed limit.

The app is fantastic and the warning you get when you exceed the speed limit is very useful but would be even better if the alert sound could be changed to a number of different options and keep sounding until the correct speed limit was reached - even if only repeating every 2 seconds or so. The other thing that would be brilliant would be for the whole screen to flash red when a speed limit was exceeded as this would be far more noticeable than trying to spot the warning that is currently in the bottom corner of the screen. This not only would help save peoples licences and avoid fines but would help prevent speed related accidents
I would love and pay for any app that provided a full green screen when travelling below the speed limit, provided an amber screen at the speed limit then changed to a red screen if the speed limit was exceeded by 5mph. I am surprised no-one else has developed this and obviously the Waze app has the technology in there somewhere. Thanks

When I am in an unfamiliar area, I would welcome the possibility to see what is the next speed limit and when is it going to change.

So, e.g. I am travelling between two cities, speed limit is 90, but I am approaching a city, so I want to be told that after xx meters (decreasing number) the speed limit is going to change to 50. The traffic sign could be then also added to the map, so it would appear where the city (or in general speed limit change) starts.

It would be great if showing of both would be configurable (ON/OFF), even if I would probably keep them both ON.

This would help a lot with predicting what is going to happen, and it would also help to decrease fuel consumption.

I would like the option to have the speed limit spoken out loud when it changes

Have Waze announce speed limit when it changes AND when there have been long stretches of the same speed limit as a reminder. This would be a huge help for people who do not have their phones mounted.

I double what Anonymous has commented on Aug 6th 2018. Please make the speed limit changes in advance. I like to coast to a decreasing speed limit. That's because legally you have to be driving under the limit at the sign anyway (at least this is the case in Finland) and just letting off the gas pedal saves fuel, brakes and lowers the chance of sudden need to hit the brakes and that in turn lowers the chance of accidents. My car has CVT transmission so I it coasts quite far and I have to let go of the gas pedal in good time. This works well if I know the limits or if they are visible. But this feature would be a good addition for unfamiliar routes.
Also, the new PHEV's and EV's coast quite far too if regeneration is set to low (which is more economical IF you can anticipate and reduce speed without using the brakes) so I guess the need for this feature is going to rise in the future.
I've been looking at other navigation apps and devices for this feature and just found the first app where this feature has been implemented. Sygic has it (https://www.sygic.com/what-is/speed-limits), but I wouldn't want to give up all the good stuff Waze has! There's a lot. I like it very much in general.

Show upcoming speed limit changes in addition to the current speed limit

Waze is already aware when the speed limit on my route changes and displays the little speed limit sign but unless you're watching the display it's easily missed. Allow for an option to add a chime or other audio notification when the speed limit changes.

I have traveled through several Arizona, Illinois, Indiana cities that use hidden or partially blocked speed limit signs as a speed trap (Policing for Profit Scheme) giving us notice of a changing speed limit so that we don't have to rely on these hidden signs or have a second warning to keep us legal

I would like to see WAZE announce an upcoming speed limit change alert in the same way it alerts drivers to hazards and police.
