Add closure report to Android Auto
There does not appear to be a way to report a temporary closure of a road due to an accident, etc. from within the Waze Android Auto interface. Please consider adding this feature.
Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

Why I have still to use the workaround every time I'm standing before a road block, Every other navigation system I used had this "Reroute now" button,
1. Stop at side line
2. pull cable to switch from AA to App mode
3. report road block, getting new route
4. back to AA to rive with this new router
5. continue driving
BTW this has for me same priority as e.g. reporting a police control, or a broken car that stand on road or side lane -

Just ran into this. Using Waze to navigate a a new city and it keeps trying to route me on a closed road. Only way I could report from Android Auto that made sense was a map issue. Just ended up creating more work for the editors.

Could this ever get looked at?

There is no possibility to signal a road closure in android auto.
The user need to disconnect his phone and indicate the closure through the app.
This missing feature in very important to my mind -

I run into this issue with the factory radios on Ford vehicles.
I transport vehicles for dealerships and fleets. Having to stop and disconnect the phone from Android Auto to report a road closure is a bit of a hassle.
I just want to help other driver's avoid traffic. -

It would be incredibly useful. I was told to go down a closed road the other day and had no way to tell my map the road was closed through my Android Auto. The road has been closed for some time and it kept directing back to a road that was not there.

Yes please do this. Too many times I've been directed to a closed road or ramp

This is an important option for increasing road safety & driving efficiency. Not have it is dumb & make WAZE of less value to the users.

Hello. Cannot notify via Android auto that a road is closed. When will this feature be available? Thank you

I am using Android Auto. Once connected to Android Auto, the following functions disappear: gas prices, roadside help, map chat, place, & closure. These greatly decrease the value & functionality of WAZE.

Adding my voice to the wonderment as to why this STILL isn't supported in AA projection mode.

It's been more than 3 years, why has this not been addressed yet?

Unbelievable that this issue has been going on for so long. This is also an issue on Apple CarPlay
As mentioned several times, this is also a safety issue which has potential fatal consequences.
Please fix this with a simple update. -

Why is this still an issue? How is it possible to reroute without it?!

On Android auto, it is not possible to indicate a closed road. Would it be possible to add it to the list of reports?

To be an effective traffic app, Waze needs to report on road closures while using Waze through Android/Apple connection to vehicle GPS screen.
We were not redirected by Waze recently when a major road closed due to a fatal accident. Fortunately, overhead road signs warned us of the problem and we diverted using Google maps ( which showed the road closed). This saved us at least an hour or more as we didn't have to double back. -

This is actually not only a useful feature but a safety one.
Right now, a user would need to pick up their phone and do this manually while possibly driving if a road is closed and they don't know where to go.

It is needed because when a road is closed because whatever, you need to recalculate route and without "closure" report it is not possible...

This is a necessity! Why has this not been addressed?
