I dont think its necessary, just drive how do you feel, in city I drive 90 kmph, and its just OK.

I had a similar idea, and I included a graphic on my Facebook page. The graphic shows the speedometer highlighted in green when a driver's speed is at or under the posted speed limit (shown with a speed limit sign icon), and red when the speed is over the limit.

Yes, this would put Waze's GPS portion on par with commercial navigation apps while the social portion of course makes Waze one of a kind. While you're at it, I would propose incorporating local speed rules. For example, speed limit might be 35MPH but when going past a school during school hours only, the limit drops to 25MPH. (California rule) No app today handles this variable speed limit AFAIK.
Given GPS location, current time, and retrieving rules over Internet, this calculation could be automated. Even without this extra accuracy, speed limit warning would be awesome.

When approaching a speed camera, the speed limit for that camera should be shown on the information box for the camera.

If at all possible, add the posted speed limits on the routes. There were plenty of spots where we never saw a sign with the posted speed

So does garmin on the truck gps

Or I could set my own speed limit and Waze could buzz if I drive faster. Just to keep me at 90 km/h without constantly staring at the phone.

I think that the addition of the speed limit on roads for all versions of waze would be wonderful.

Hey, maybe in future we can add speed limits to the road? (In map editor). It helps pretty much when you are unfamiliar places. And also roadworks adding in map editor would be nice feature.

More than that...I think the Waze map should allow users to add / update the posted speed on any road segment so that 1) Waze can more accurately calculate the fastest route even where there are few Wazers on the road and 2) to show the current speed of the segment so users know the posted speed even when they can't see it so they won't get pulled over and 3) for a potential "over the posted speed" function. The TomTom app does all this, and I think Waze should too.

Can you put speed limits on your maps . Tom Tom I think offer this on their devices

yeah please add this feature, it should automatically detect the speed limit in a given road and should sound an alarm or voice guidance to slow down

I agree and feel that having the posted speed limit as a display option near the current GPS speed (different position/font/color) would be very valuable

Yes, this would be great actually. In my area, cops don't generally bother pulling you over unless you are going 15mph over the speed limit (though some exceptions do apply), because it's jus tnot worth enough money until then.

Great idea. Would complete the waze experience

I actually think this is a great idea. Hertz GPS has this option.
Magellan used to have it until the company got bought out and they end up using crappy GPS software. I heard they brought feature back again.
It's very useful and you don't have to keep checking your speedometer. I like to see more GPS companies have this feature.

I wish Waze would add speed limits to the maps and then monitor my speed and notify me when I exceed the speed limit by a variable amount of speed (which I can set). It would also be great if it could tell me when slightly in advance of downward changes in speed limit.

This is a fantastic feature in Navigon, and I hope to see it some day in Waze.
In Navigon, the maximum speed limit is pictured on the screen and changes each time you start down a new road. I don't know how they do this, but it's great. It seriously keeps my lead foot lighter.
