GPX import so we can navigate nice roads with a motorbike
GPX import so we can navigate nice roads with a motorbike
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

The same for me in France, I'm moving faster than a car, so my time travel can not be recorded as the same as a car.

Yes, I use both car and motorcycle in Sao Paulo and I am sure I do a disservice to the community, increasing the average speed on the roads significantly. I see many other bikers using Waze.
As I use both vehicles, the client should ask the user upon initialization which kind of vehicle he is using (for users who have set up more than one kind, of course)
Also, there are motorcycle-specific traffic restrictions that could be added to the map, avoiding routing motorbikes into restricted areas.

I will suggest the same thing. I think in advenced setting would have an option "Chose vehicle type when open Waze?" if its enabled when open Waze it asks "What vehicle type are you using?" Car, Motocyle?
If the user set Motocyle headphone button can be mark points;

This could work for any type of vehicle, especially motorcycles.

Here in Brasil, the motorcycles can ride between the cars. This situation influences directly on the route information.
For us, when we select a destination, the traffic information is not so important than for a car. The time is different too.
If Waze consider the user´s speed during their navigation, our speed can´t be considered, cause we always ride at the maximum street speed, but the cars, most of times, are slower than us.
If Waze can consider this type of vehicle, i think it can help too many users, like me.

This feature would be useful for me too. I'm a GIS specialist with tons of GPS collected data in GIS format. If I want to share it in Waze I have to heads up digitize it (again) or drive over the area to collect the data again.

Well its not just @ bicycles...
While driving car on a road where no internet connection available.. waze is of no use.... so many time I use other offline navigation systems as Findind a road is imp than Traffic update in that scenario...
Allowing the GPX tracks to upload will not only help me in building those roads in waze if mising... but also help to calculate the Average speeds for such roads...
otherwise , As no network zone, these roads will never get average speed or GPs traces..

We need a way to distinguish between various vehicle-types; this would do all the things asked for now as taxis, motorcycles, walking, bicycling.
Check this suggestion:

In the Netherlands and Belgium people really like to cycle. Therefore it would be great if people could upload there gpx routes they have created from other applications or websites. Then we would have the nicest routes instead of the fastest or shortest. The bicycle mode could help to distinguish special bikeroutes and carroutes, and will make sure waze is not showing a traffic slowdown.
