minimize left turns across traffic
In urban areas making left turns onto a busy street without a traffic light or 4 way stop can be difficult and add minutes. Ways should have a navigation option to minimize that. By contrast right turns onto traffic and left turns off of heavy traffic roads are awesome
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Please make this "off-side turns". Here in the UK it's right turns to avoid, not left turns. But this is a really important feature! Any human being would try to find a route that does not involve turning in the wrong direction in places where there's no traffic lights, roundabout or similar. About time navigation apps had that ability, too!

I forget where I heard, but apparently they do not know where the lights are unless someone has reported it as a red-light camera.

I'm sure Waze must know which side streets have a traffic light to make a left turn easy and safe. Every morning I waste time having to reroute because traffic in LA is too heavy to make a left onto a major boulevard.

You should avoid on the route left turn from side road to major road if intersection does not have traffic light, during rush hour. For example ,- Toronto,ON,Canada, heading west on Nipigon Ave turning south on Yonge St. In off peak hours it is OK, during rush hours - it is next to impossible. Yonge has 3 lanes each direction. I'm 40 years behind the wheel and can drive (in case you consider me inexperienced driver).

I have to occasionally ignore waze directions that would have me make more left turns than needed just to take a slightly shorter route.

Maybe have a toggle that says "Avoid left turns" or "Avoid left turns on busy roads" So you can choose when to turn that feature on or off.

While Waze does save me usually, it tends to route me through very difficult unprotected left turns during rush hour which I cannot make or make my route feel unsafe. I wouldn't usually do this but since I am generally unfamiliar with the route I end up in a situation where I have to make this turn.

Waze frequently routes me through intersections where I need to make a left turn onto a busy street, and there's no stop sign or traffic light. Meanwhile, one street over, I could have made a left turn at a traffic light. Can we have a routing option to avoid these difficult left turns?

Please stop suggesting dangerous left turns where streets are wide, busy and there is no stop light. Thanks.

Allot of intersections have no left turn or right turn signs, but they often make exeption for certain types of vehicles such as Taxis and Buses. For example, this intersection

I would like to see a "Class of Vehicle" setting so that Waze would allow us to take advantage of these exeptions if we're driving the appropriate type of vehicle.

I, along with many other friends, have had one too many dangerous routes from Waze to make left turns onto extremely busy and large streets as well as going straight across those busy streets!!
I've had several close calls trying to attempt these routes. -

Especially is the left turn is at rush hour (often is) and there is NO LIGHT! It can be almost impossible at times. Any way to avoid that in major markets would be greatly appreciated!

Some of these left turns onto busy streets are also quite dangerous!

Agree. Waze directions often try for shorter side roads, but do not take into account making turns on to such side roads as left turns across busy multi-lane roads where there is no stop lights.

Agree!!! Was going to report it but saw that someone did it 2 YEARS ago... my suggestion would be, when providing directions for Los Angeles destinations, a left turn should be ok only if 1) there is a traffic light or 2) the road has 1 lane each way, or 2 if traffic is really light... thanks!
