Activate "picture in picture" (PIP).
Activate "picture in picture" (PIP). With Gmaps you can have the map superimposed on another application
Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

i have the same kind of problem. When i get a call, the call application closes with itself the Waze screen, so after every call i need to press escape from call mode, or open Waze works on back screen

If I use Waze without Waze on Top feature in the car, and if I have an incoming call or if I start a call, the Waze app don't com back on top automatically. So I suggest to bring back this feature in the Waze app. Prevent auto-lock function is not enough to solve this problem!

I just learned that the always on top feature is not supported on Android Q 10. I seriously hope that is an oversight. I use Waze daily as I go from client site to client site. I also use my hands free in my vehicle to make and receive calls and having this disabled now causes a distraction for me because I have to touch my phone to get Waze back on top. Can you please please please restore this feature? It is critical to my daily operations. Thank you

Tengo Android 10 y la función que al llamarme waze se vuelve abrir la perdí. Me llaman y deja Waze en segundo plano. Es super necesaria por seguridad al manejar. Ojala la reintegren.
Saludos.

"Keep waze on top" is an existing and very good function on android. Why isn't allowed this feature on iPhone?

Could be great and far less dangerous to be able to keep waze on top of the screen when a call occurs. Right now we need to touch the phone screen to go back on the navigation screen. Thanks you!

I have had a cradle for my iPhone in my car for at least 10 years now. Maps are soooo much better in portrait mode. However, my new car has CarPlay. If I use carplay, the only way to see Waze maps is on the car screen, the phone only shows turn by turn directions. I would like the option to keep the map on the phone screen. My phone is closer to my field of view than my entertainment system, and more of the road ahead is shown. Please fix this!

Hi there!
So for years I've searched these keywords with Waze and for years I've found hardly a shred of anyone discussing this, which I don't understand as this is one of only two reasons I continue to use Google Maps. But now that you're implementing Lane Guidance, this is the only feature left to complete Waze over G-Maps.
As depicted in the screenshot link bellow, Google Maps has a mini map Overlay that allows nagivation when using other apps or at the home screen, which appears the as soon as the Waze app is minimised/exited.
This Overlay is sometimes instead referred to as "Picture-in-picture" in some OS versions.
Thanks

Why can I not find this anywhere else?
Literally the only 2 things keeping Waze unusable in city streets is this and lane guidance
C'mon Google!
