Implement U-turn navigation instruction and ability to allow u-turns at intersection.
In exUSSR countries it is a common practice to use u-turn. Traffic lights at major intersections may have special arrow to allow only left turns and u-turns. But currently Waze cannot use this feature to build optimal route.

@Tonia King, if you're getting a route that has illegal u-turns, the editing community can absolutely restrict them. You need to submit a report so someone can take a look and make the changes.

Take note of the intersections where U-turns are not allowed. Posted no u-turn sign. Which means they are illegal. So this should be corrected on the app, which is why I sent a message to correct it and not get a response like the following response. According, to the response, “u-turns are ambiguous.” We are following the directions provided by Waze and expect them to be correct. Nobody wants to use directions, when the directions are not correct. So U-turn should not be ambiguous.

I wanted to update the directions because some people only follow the GPS and might break the law thinking it's okay.

Ideally, double lefts onto segments of different types/names should not be using a U-Turn instruction. Multiple UR: drivers are advised to make a U Turn when this is a double left from minor highway to parking lot road. This may be also applicable to other road types. This should be revised by waze developers and improved to avoid such situations.

Also sometimes a "turn left, then turn left" is an actual U-turn. Double turn left should be replaced by U-turn.

It would also need to work where there isn't a cross street, like a standalone U-turn in the median.

Need to make sure this works correctly for junctions with JB and without JBs

Currently when Waze gives a U-turn instruction the voice prompt is "Make a U-turn ON [name of street you are on]. The problem with this is everyone knows that a U-turn is "ON" the street you are on. However, the driver does not know WHERE to make the U-turn. Map editors routinely see Update Requests where the driver was given a U-turn instruction and thought the turn was at a different intersection than where Waze was instructing them to make the U-turn.
What would actually help the driver is if Waze informed the driver WHERE to make the U-turn. The instruction should be
Make a U-turn AT [cross street]
If no cross street name is available then a simple instruction "Make a U-turn" would be sufficient. -

In many countries U turns on major roads are illegal as its a dangerous premise to allow them.
Tomtom is a prime example encouraging drivers to do this where its illegal in the UK, if this feature was implemented it would have to be carefully locked off geographically per country that forbids it.

Yes ! Please implement U-turns!

Agreed 100%. Can definitely be confusing for most especially in an unfamiliar area.

How about "make a u-turn," instead. By the time one realizes the two lefts are actually a u-turn, it's too late. Not a big deal when driving in general. If a fare is at stake, and in unfamiliar turf; it can cause a ride cancellation...

Now, UTurn is ok on WME and APP... is not ? :-)

I can only access my workplace when coming from one direction. In the other direction, you have to make a U-turn. Recently someone un-devided the street and now Waze does not use the U-turn any-more. This is very annoying since the selected routes are now completely biased.

Please tell me I need to make a U-turn instead of making a left and then another left

+1 for Russia.
Waze routes are longer than normal for 10-20 minutes due to this problem -

Have you tried using report map error functions? This will allow map editors update navigation potentials
