Possibility to add road closure on CarPlay
Possibility to mark road closed on apple carplay: ofen in Montreal, Canada we have lots of road closure, not reported on waze, causing wrong direction.
Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

Today, in South Africa, was the perfect example of how having the closure option on Carplay would have assisted with traffic alleviation. Multiple roads closed due to flooding, but no way of reporting that the roads were closed. Multiple users reported flooding, and other hazards, but Waze still shows the road as open and free flow, with no traffic. PLEASE add the closure option to Carplay.

I have a long commute and this is affecting me almost daily & I may have to switch the app i'm using if it continues to cause such poor routing

Allow us to report road closures when using carplay. I can see this was suggested back in 2019 but still hasn't been actioned. Not only is this helpful in making other drivers aware, it also means i can be given an alternative route when faced with a closure. Currently, if i find a road closure waze becomes unusable as it repeatedly tries to re-route me back to the closed road.

It's not safe to go into the app on my phone while I'm driving. It should be an option on carplay so you can automatically be rerouted. This happened a few days ago to me. It kept looping me back around to go the same exact route in which the road was closed. I ended up being 10 minutes late to my appointment, not to mention, not knowing where I was going I ended up driving down some potentially dangerous neighborhoods.

For all the reasons below… this should be a priority, the idea is for Waze to guide away from problems, why not make exporting problems as easy as possible.
With the increasing use of carplay and android auto, and wireless connections, my phone doesn’t leave my pocket, and I’m not going to try and pull it out while driving…. Especially when two taps of the carplay screen should report it.

There should be a simple way to report a road closure while driving to avoid further distractions while driving. I have to unplug my phone from carplay to try to report the closure so other people don't have the same issue.

On Ramps and Off Ramps are often times closed at various times of the day and night, especially on US Interstate 10 (I-10) in San Bernardino County in California, due to the widening of the Freeway over several years since about 2017. Please take into account these emergent issues and add this feature to Carplay and/or Android Auto ASAP.
I was guided to this link, to voice my opinion, by the Map Editor who stated I used the 'Map Issue' feature incorrectly when I pressed the feature while being guided on Carplay. My Waze Handle is 'GoodStory71' for further contact or clarification.

Not having this feature almost cost me to miss my flight out of PHX on Saturday morning. I could not have Waze avoid the closure of SR-143, and after trying 3 different routes suggested by Waze that all used the same SR-143 at different points of entry (all closed), I had to figure it out the old fashioned way.
Pleuezzzee add this feature soon!

I understand the idea of simplifying the reporting choices you have in Waze using CarPlay, but reporting a road closure seems crucial. When I used the most obvious existing way - reporting a map error - the volunteer map editor gently chided me for misusing the function. Is there a good reason reporting a temporary road closure has been left out of CarPlay?

temporary road closures add challenges to driving. When your directions are telling you to do something you cannot on the road, things become more difficult. Allow users to help others quickly by adding this feature to Waze please.

Too difficult to report this. Please add it to CarPlay.

I spent too much time staring at the CarPlay screen looking for a way to mark the temporary closure. Anything that distracts from something that should be intuitive and quick is DANGEROUS and distracting for the driver and others on the road. Make it easy to report so we can get back to undivided attention.

I have my phone wire to my Dash for Android and Apple carplay and when I run into a detour or a road closure it doesn't give me the option to report it so I can change my route but when I'm not connected to Android or Apple carplay I have full accessibilities to say yes no and all that why isn't that not an option for car player users

My whole thing is helping others. I don't want people going down a road that is closed. It would just be nice to be able to report it easily and fast because for one I'm driving and two, I'm running late because I went down a road that was closed.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I didn't even know that was an option until the support told me I could use the "closure" option next time (as opposed to "general map error")... I never use Waze unconnected to my car. Not sure why this and a few other options aren't available.

Had the same problem today in Valencia, Spain: a temporary road closure ended up being reported as an invalid turn.
This is crucial for the social aspect of Waze.

This issue should be revisited. Many more Update Requests (user reports) are generated on the Waze Map Editor because of the inability to simply report a closure. By the time anyone answers these reports, most have already re-opened. The original purpose of this function was for drivers to help other drivers avoid routing into the same inconvenient situations. For many users currently, it's anything but that.
