Add Electric Charging station location info.
As as EV driver, it would be nice if electric charging station locations was built into the app so I don't have to go to yet another app just for this info. The data is widely available from here
http://www.afdc.energy.gov/fuels/electricity_locations.html
and here
and here
One problem is there is not one site that has all the info, so I'm forced to check all three. Having all this data within Waze would allow me to stay inside the app without having to leave it.
Great news! The option to see the EV charging stations along your route is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out. You may also check this link to learn more.

In Denmark the charge providers have made a mutual site with charging locations:

Too true, this would be great
And the first accommodation booking site to include a search filter for EV charging hotels & B&B's will quickly grab the market share and take the lead now that the EV revolution is starting to take hold
Our future is electric!

This is a very important information for VE users (that are growing every day).
The charger source can be a very dificult point to manage, because there a lot oh diferent sources by region/countries.
The best option would be to leave a collaborative possibility to add charging point and respective status of availability.

Agreed!! Waze is the best driving map assistance out there and it would be greatly appreciated if:
1- Charging stations would be listed as an option
2- Tesla and Waze got married... Just imagine Waze running in the Tesla screen... Please!!! -

Great idea, we really need this. Visible and accurate charge points shown on the map, of course with option t toggle them off so as not to annoy the fossil burners.

Places already include this, you can search for "charging station" and they will appear in search.
The results are dependent on the community to map them. If they aren't mapped in the editor they will not appear in the app.

For Catalonia, the government maintains an open data file with all public and private-open charging stations:
- Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z4xnIt9uT66s.kxkW7LH1hZ_w
- CSV: http://icaen.gencat.cat/web/sites/icaen/.content/12_opendata/arxius/PUNTS_RECARREGA_VEHICLES_ELECTRICS.csvAnd for Spain, the reference repo of charging stations is http://electromaps.com
Btw, don't waste your time arguing in this thread wether you prefer oil or electric cars, it's out of this scope, just don't buy an electric car, nobody will blame at you.

It would likely be easier to use openchargemap data free here: http://openchargemap.org/site/develop

https://my.thenewmotion.com/ contains a LOT of info on charging points in the Netherlands. They would probably be open to collaborating with Waze/supplying charging points and prices.
The big thing missing in their app and website is some user generated data like
- is a charging point publicly accessible?
- additional costs (like parking)?
- other additional regulation (like a max parking duration)Also doing some rough calculation on charging costs (based on EV battery size) and comparing that to fuel costs of nearby petrol stations (for a comparible range on petrol) would be awesome.
