It would be great if the distance of the alerts was customizable - so that warnings could be provided earlier.
It would be great if the distance of the alerts was customizable - so that warnings could be provided earlier - maybe even by alert type so that constriuction alerts could be set at 20 miles - and police alerts at 1.
Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

Set Speed Camera alert always on regardless of current speed. This is needed on UK Smart Motorways where limits are set below the national speed limit.
Set mobile Police Speed Camera van alert distance to 1 or 2 miles.
Set speed camera or police visual Alert colour on Android Auto. The current flashing blob is not visible enough. Let us make it bright red to see it more clearly on the cars nav screen.
The main reason I use Waze is for the Speed Camera alerts but the lack of these options is making it very frustrating to use. Please add these options if possible.

to see if the vehicle on the side of the road or the patrol officer is there. Remember if we are driving and looking out for ourselves, and a notification voice says, Vehicle on side of the road in 1.2 miles. We begin to look for that. Dividing now our attention between driving and looking ahead to see if there is still a car on the side or patrol person. I feel myself often rushed and straining to see up the road. If there is a curve, or a semi in front of me I can't do anything until its too late. The warning is gone and I can't help. I would only hope you could add a couple more seconds on showing that STILL THERE / NOT THERE message. ty

Would like a way to determine the distance I am from a road hazard, police, construction or traffic delay. If there is a way to click on the appropriate icon to see exactly where the problem is I haven't been able to find how. I'm usually a very short distance before being warned which doesn't help much if there's a traffic delay & I might have been able to exit the highway beforehand. BUT I love waze.

Just had Police ahead pop up and two buttons to click - one to say if they were still there, the other to say if they had gone - which is a great idea - but by the time we get to the place should have been, the buttons disappear and even pressing on the police symbol on the map doesn’t bring them back up. Can you delay the buttons displaying a bit longer or have the option to bring them back up please?

Ive been using waze for years now. I would suggest a feature that would allow you to move a alert you post back a distance. Sometimes by the time you see an object on the road and post it you are way past it. Maybe a move back 100 yards or 300 yards or 500 yards button.

"Next turns" has a countdown in distance (miles/km).
"Reports ahead" should have the same countdown in distance.
Would be very useful for CarPlay and for drivers who always take the same roads. -

simplify and speed up input AND give realistic range of hazard location descriptions. On "Identify Hazard Location" page put a touch-selectable graphic to choose (right to left): far right edge (weeds), right shoulder (gravel), right edge of road (painted line), right lane, middle lane, left lane, left edge of road, left shoulder, far left edge, median. Don't tell me "vehicle on shoulder" and have me watching the RIGHT shoulder only to HIT some guy parked almost on the median...

Waze needs to enact this suggestion immediately.

At night we're usually tired and not always aware of the road conditions such as traffic lights.
Therefore I might be surprised by a traffic light and react too late if it turns red.
A vocal warning could help by warning me that a 100m, for example, there is a traffic light so that I can slow down a little and not be surprised if it turns out red.
Not relevant at all in cities, but helpful whenever there are none or few of them, making me readier for them.I could choose the number of warnings, only 1 to make it less annoying, and also the distance before its location (100m, 200m...)
Default of course is "OFF"In risk management severity goes along with probability: the severity of missing a red traffic light should trumps the low probability.
This feature can save lives. -

Rather than *just* alert me .3 of a mile away, why not tell me "miles to next speed camera" - so I might know "on the current route, I've 10 miles to the next (known) speed camera - helpful!

In my experience in Houston traffic, I get the "Accident reported ahead" after I've been sitting in standstill traffic for a while and I'm looking at the mangled cars. I'l like to know if there are accidents on the route when I select it.

In Turkey the Waze must improve routing and warning especially speed cameras in speed corridors, hidden police radar cars, red light cameras.Google Map works very well for avoiding congestion to offer a new road, but the Waze is very weak with this option.Awaiting new updates.

Keep more time (in Brazil) the potholes harzard on road. Because in Brazil the potholes are difficult to been repared and i need to keep sending the alerts every single day. It will be easer and safer for wazer in my country if the alerts been keep for a week. That´s it!

Explicando.

When the yellow bar comes up it tells me what the hazard is and how far away, but the buttons to thank the person and dismiss it cover the words describing the hazard type. If you put the hazard on top and the distance to it underneath, then the buttons wouldn't block the writing. I think it's a simple change that would make the app look better.

Leave Confirm/Deny (Yes/No) buttons on screen longer (Increase Countdown time) -
Because of the disparity of user entries adding alerts, the exact location of an alert is vague. Often times when I see an alert, the countdown to when I can confirm or deny goes away before the actual alert is there. There have been times I press Deny, only to see the alert around a corner or over a hill, a few tenths of a mile up the road. My suggestion is to leave those buttons on for 1/4 mile or so past the supposed alert to give more validity to the confirmations or denials. -

It needs to tell you that there's a accident about 10 miles out so you can get off a exit and go around
