Add hazard warning: Poor visibility due to wildfire smoke.
Add hazard warning: Poor visibility Smoke.
Had two incidents in the past week where there was poor visibility die to smoke. One led to a multi vehicle accident. The other was on a winding mountain pass.

I also created a sug via discuss. https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/change-fog-hazard-to-low-visibility/400565
For some time now I’ve been advocating for localized weather hazards in Waze that better reflect the country and season. For example, there shouldn’t be an option to report snow during summer, or in tropical regions like where I live where snow simply never occurs.
I understand that fully localizing hazards for every region might be a large undertaking, but I have a smaller, practical suggestion that could immediately benefit drivers in my country and likely many others as well.
My proposal is to change the “Fog” report to “Low Visibility.” In my country, fog is very rare, but we frequently experience bush fires and smoke, which can significantly reduce visibility and create dangerous driving conditions.
At the moment, users often report “fog” to represent smoke or other visibility issues, even though it isn’t technically accurate. By switching to “Low Visibility,” the report becomes more flexible and can cover a broader range of real-world conditions, making it more useful and accurate for drivers across different regions.

Ótima ideia, recente na SP 333 houve um acidente grave em decorrência da fumaça.

Keep it simple, the main reason for the fog hazard is low visibility. In addition to smoke, heavy rains are also reasons for this type of situation, so to solution this issue globally, it is not necessary to create new hazards, but just decide an translation adjustment in the fog hazard

I'd like to clarify that this suggestion does not fall under crisis scenarios.
Here, we are dealing with roadside fires, which are usually small but can generate smoke that significantly reduces visibility.
Although temporary, the impact on visibility can be just as severe as fog, which already has a dedicated alert.
This may not be common in some countries due to humidity levels or vegetation types, but in Brazil and other tropical regions, it is more frequent.
A possible solution could be to group fog and smoke under a single alert, perhaps labeled "Low Visibility" or simply "Fog/Smoke."

Yes, there is a fog hazard option but no smoke hazard yet smoke can cause worse visibility than fog.
