Creating option in settings to 'Allow U-turns when available'
Currently in the UK, the Waze app will not suggest a u-turn when it is legal and available, and instead it will reroute you in big, difficult, time-wasting loops. It usually happens when you make a wrong turn or are in a rural area. A simple U-turn can save lots of time and frustration but Waze suggests 10+ minute detours instead. Very frustrating and something the user should have power over, given that the country (The UK in this case) allows u-turns on its roads except when specifically prohibited.
Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

Instead insisting on, for example, driving through multiple side roads only to fall back onto the same location but heading in the opposite direction, when a simple U-turn at the starting position would have been adequate. In certain scenarios, such as when navigating through a dense one-way road-only area, this adds unnecessary time and distance travelled to the route.

Please add turnaround instruction. As of now, if I'm going the wrong way, I will be directed half a mile or more to a neighborhood... To simply turn around.

When searching for a stop (i.e. restaurants) mention if it requires you to turn around. I chose the closest one and it required me to go back the way I came instead of continuing to the next one which I would of chose had I known I would of been turning around.

less stress if identified

is there a better way to identify u-turns ? instead of an abrupt dead end at the traffic light, could we have a half width blue line doubled up (like a noodle) to indicate a u-turn? It would be greatly helpful. thank you.

as in introducing TomTom navigation option "go back" or "do reverse as soon as possible" after the wrong road to avoid making many more kilometers
