Ability to select the types of hazards to enable/disable
Sometimes, certain hazards are not very helpful and are more of a distraction than anything. For example, vehicles stopped on the shoulder, weather, and missing sign are not very important and I dismiss them every time I see it. At times I feel like disabling hazards altogether.

Great news! The ability to disable individual alert notifications is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

how did you not notice the earlier same request with 160+ votes while you typed out your suggestion topic?

I live in Los Angeles, there is a car stopped on the side of the road on every freeway at all times. This is not a hazard! I want to see real hazards, but not be flooded and distracted with this one.

I AGREE !! Not helpful at all. Why in the world can't I just turn off the notification for cars on the side of the road? I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Waze, please allow me to turn off this "feature".

Completely agree. Want to know only essential alerts. Shoulder alerts are continuous in Atlanta. Otherwise great app!!

Voice Alerts - Would like to the ability to mute all except for the police. There far too many annoying, "Vehicle stopped on side of highway" alerts. In a busy town, these annoying alerts pop up every couple of minutes, when the only alert that everybody really cares about are the speed trap and police alerts.

People who excessively use shoulder alert should be flayed or have their points HALVED [iteratively]
Points HALVING should happen when sufficient number of people report it NOT there for when it is NOT a hazard .... which is most ALWAYS

allow every user to select which alerts to receive or NOT-receive ... this needs to be account-persistent.
vehicle stopped on shoulder is NOT occluding the lane
this one "feature" discourages most who try waze on my suggestion

Yes - please allow us to disable this warning. It is extremely annoying and disruptive to what is otherwise a great service.

I'd like notifications of other hazards, but I don't care if there is a car on the shoulder.

Please allow us to disable the annoying rain alerts. I don't need to have my music interrupted several times to announce that it's raining. Anyone with a window can see it's raining. Or, perhaps disable it in locations where it's not necessary. That would be most locations.

The only alerts I want are for police, red light cameras, visibility, & hazard in road. Please add the option to silence all other alerts.
"Rain reported ahead"
"Vehicle on shoulder ahead"
"Hazard on shoulder ahead"
These and ones like them are all virtually useless alerts. These traffic events may slow traffic, but it doesn't change anything.I would like you to add an "essential alerts only" mode, which only warns of police, fog/rain/smoke that is *so* bad that visibility is reduced, red light cameras, and hazards *in* the roadway.
Since I listen to comedy podcasts while driving and because here in the Chicago area there are sometimes as many as 4 alerts per minute, I miss a good portion of the podcasts. I really want to hear only the essential alerts.

We really need the ability to filter what alerts to be made aware of. Weather and things on the shoulders do not concern me most of the time.
I would also like to see the ability to have different audio levels for turn-by-turn directions and alerts. I should be able to have alerts be audible and keep directions muted if I choose to.

Waze mutes my radio too many times to tell me there is a vehicle stopped on the shoulder. Wish I could find the kids who think this is important to report

Could not agree more! This is by far the biggest bug in Waze and a huge distraction while driving.

Agree 110%. PLEASE add this.

Please offer this feature. I drive about 100 miles round trip everyday on the freeways in Southern California. I get this alert about 40 times per day.
It is incredibly annoying. It is also pretty useless. It constantly draws my attention away from the road for something that is about 5 lanes away and nobody cares about.
The only reason so, so many people report it is because they get points for reporting things.
