Add a feature/option to avoid railroad crossings
Today I got stuck waiting for a freight train twice. It would have saved me time to have an option on Waze to give me an alternate route and how many minutes the detour takes in order to avoid the railroad crossing. When I got stuck for the 2nd time I took a right turn to explore the area and found an underpass 2 blocks away, which saved me about 5 minutes. This gave me the idea.

This is very critical with heavy vehicle drivers using maps to navigate or even when a vehicle with trailers crossing level crossings

Please add "avoid crossroads" option in navigation settings.

I cannot drive my Miata over majority of the railroad crossings in my local area, they are too high/large drops. Waze is always determined to send me over them no matter the route and I have to turn around and find new routes often.

The map should at LEAST show whether the road passes under the train or not. If Waze has a problem navigating around the tracks, “Wazers” can look at the map. This will allow us to figure out a detour for ourselves.

Our city has added a bunch of street level LRT crossings which absolutely destroy commute time. Please add this as an option.

Please add something like "avoid rail crossings" when choosing an itinerary.
There's already the possibility to avoid tolls and highways, maybe just add "avoid rail crossings" in the initial settings.
Thanks. -

Recently I have come a cross this kind of schedule too when I was on my https://www.dbfahrplan.com/de/ das Europa-Spezial[/url] tour to Germany. At first I didn’t know what it was but my guide explained that this kind of schedule is called integrate train schedule or rail data. This kind of schedule is basically used to predict where traffic will be impacted by a train crossing. In layman’s term, it’s to show a person direction to see if more than one train will be crossing the rail at the same time. If it is, the professionals will come right away to solve the problem.

Hello, may you add option in app for searching train connection in background and by this make the route? Because im traveling with uber/bolt very often through train but every time we are travel throught rail crossing and must wait many times more than 5 minutes and i know there is minimally other one road what skips that crossing. So it's better if that app may count with railway timetable and by this create direction of route and avoid this part of road.

When waze is choosing the closest road to a destination, the algorithm should reject roads which are on the other side of a railroad. It could be dangerous or illegal to cross the railroad, so Waze should not be directing wazers to do so.

I would like an option to avoid level crossings.

Ariel's comment is a good one. Freight railroads generally DON'T share data on train schedules....

please give us the option to avoid railway crossings, the railway crossing here are always busy with trains, so instead of saving time it often cost me time.

Just by penalizing routes with a train cross with say... 5 minutes should be enough. No need to know the train schedule, that will effectively choose bridges or tunnels instead unless they are really packed

This is not to show that a train crossing is down - it's to route me a different direction if it sees that a train will be crossing the road at the same time I'm going to be there. I'm sure that the rail companies track info on location, speed, and length of their trains and they might share that data - for our safety and convenience.

I am absolutely with you. It is a really a nightmare queuing 10-15 minutes in the intersection suggested by Waze. It is a must have feature!!!!!!!!!!

get in touch with your local community. https://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=25
Maybe there is a way to map this particular spot differently -

There are some busy railway crossings, where trains go in every 5 mins. Only up to 10 cars able to ho through between 2 trains. Csusing extremly higher trevel time, than estimated by Waze. It would be handful, if one can tick-in a box to avoid 10-15 mins waiting for a free sign at a railway crossing. -

It should be good if we can provide the waiting time if we reach a border crossing. It can be same as a pop up window like petrol station to update price, here update waiting time.

Wish WAZE could figure in rail crossings or add an option to avoid them. Here in Los Angeles street traffic is horrible anyway but worse with the new Metro Rail system. A feature to avoid rail tracks when figuring out the fastest route would be a huge improvement for us!!
