The idea is to add a pause navigation control, to allow you to do any number of things while keeping the route active. I stop to visit a store on the way, and the phone is nagging me the whole time to go back to the route.

Closing the route an resuming afterwards is not a perfect solution, as I sometimes navigate in areas without good cell service. I can't pick up the route and continue until I find a way back to data.

As a suggestion, have an option to 'Pause' appear when the user is off course. If you're suggesting they go back to the route, allow them to pause until they want the info again. They just might be grabbing a sandwich or looking at scenery.

Put a pause button on the directions. That way when you stop at a rest stop or gas station, it dosnt keep telling you you are going the wrong way.

When you pull over for food or bathroom breaks Waze keeps on telling you directions. We need a “pause for the cause” kinda button to temporarily hold directions and voice until you are back in car and resume. It’s really distracting to have phone keep talking while in a stall or in line to buy food

Do parking lot roads even report traffic? One quick way to pause the navigation is minimize the app.

Being able to pause the directions would be really nice. On a long drive on a highway I might turn onto a rest stop or to get some gas. Hypotheticalically I might even want to stop to see a giant ball of twine. It would be really nice if I could stop the GPS from freaking out about the wrong turn.
I generally don't need the GPS to go to the rest stop or to find the gas station, and I don't want a notification to take a break.
However, being able to pause my directions would be nice as I'm not always in a situation where typing the address in would be convenient, and sometimes when I reroute an entirely different highway is suggested.

With the current Twitch Contact Us form users are immediately redirected off the form when an assumed applicable category is selected instead of providing a link to it.
This disrupts the user's attempt to file an inquiry while selecting a category that may/may not fit what they're seeking help on since current categories are unclear.

How about a pause button on the navigation? If I pull off to a rest stop or to a coffee shop that’s along my way I don’t need the navigation to continue to tell me turn left on Arcadia Drive and turn right. If I hit a pause button and then resume navigation. It would eliminate that annoying feature of your product. Thanks.

3 years, nothing has changed and no comments from waze. Perhaps Waze could help navigate its developers heads from the dark place they seem to be stuck in, back into the light and they could fix this issue

When I make an unplanned stop along my route I see an option to end the trip but it would be preferable if I could pause it while I intentionally go off course to get gas or stop for food for the like.

If I use Android auto and make a stop at a gas station or a snack bar, Waze forgets the route and destination when I restart the car. Can you ensure it remembers the route until I'm there or tell to stop the navigation?

Yes thank you everybody this is exactly what I've been thinking all day every time I pull off it wants to continue to continuously tell me how to get back onto my path when I know exactly what I'm doing and where I'm going why can't it just wait a second and look to see in the background if I'm near a gas station or near a convenience store or near a restaurant have some kind of AI logic built into it please

Have a "PAUSE" button. Frequently we may make a slight detour to stop for lunch, and WAZE continues to try to redirect us. I finally get so frustrated, I just turn WAZE off until after our redirection.

1) When journey resumes Waze requests to restart route
2) if you want to manually resume choose most recent route from history

It's very annoying to have Waze repeating instructions over and over when I deviate temporarily from the route, such as going into a rest area or gas station. The current method of choosing "Shutdown" is counter-intuitive and even confusing. A "Pause" button would retain the originally route but suppress repeating directions and recalculations until the driver is ready to resume the route.
