Protest the removal of the police warning feature!
The Sheriff's association is using the tired old excuse that the police warning feature in the Waze app "could be used by terrorists." That is a RIDICULOUS excuse! The truth is that they just don't want us having the ability to warn others about their friggin' speed traps, and they don't want us avoiding tickets! Terrorists my shiny white butt! They use all of their technology against us, and then when we have something to use against them they just don't like it. This feature in Waze is just the next step above radar detectors. Well we got those and they couldn't stop them, so they shouldn't be able to stop this feature. PROTEST THE REMOVAL OF THE POLICE WARNING FEATURE. We have the right to know where our public servants are, especially if they're out there setting up speed traps everywhere trying to rob us of our money! First they deliberately set speed limits on various streets to ridiculously low levels, then they direct the cops to set up speed traps knowing that people are going faster than the stupid limit they imposed. It's all a friggin' lie, a swindle specifically designed to rob us. Well I for one say screw that. TELL GOOGLE: I WANT MY POLICE FEATURE. Do it now, because they already agreed to meet with the Sheriff's Association!
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

They're extortionists, and they don't want to lose the speed trap revenue stream. I hope waze doesnt capitulate. They will lose many customers if they do.

Police are wasting tax dollars to extort money from WORKING commuters to fund other programs
It is perfectly reasonable to avoid their traps

Wow...grow up and be accountable for your actions! Most 'speed traps' are in fact the result on citizens' requests for enforcement. Think before you act,

You do realize that similar numbers of deaths occur resulting from traffic violations as from violent crime? And that undermining governments' ability to enforce democratically-passed laws regarding public safety can be viewed as tantamount to obstruction of justice and taxpayer money abuse?

We live in America where there is FREEDOM OF SPEECH, right? We are AGAINST CENSORSHIP, right?
As far as WAZE goes, how long is any POLICE vehicle in the same spot more that 15-20 min?
Terrorism is an excuse, I believe, for speed traps. If anything, more people WILL drive the speed limit with the warning feature. What percentage of drivers use WAZE, anyWAZE?? Come on. Ludicrous!
Conform to their desires and you'll set an open door precedent. Follow the law. That's all that's required. Are you looking for a kiss and hug from everyone? Especially bullies? Bring your lawyers. Don't be stupid or cheap. You have a business to run. Don't run it into the ground.

Waze, please provide ▪MOAR▪ detailed information to commuters
Waze needs to show moving sheriffs, travelling police, moving highway patrol to increase the safety of those they serve.
Show direction, velocity, acceleration, frequency, heat map, color coded aging of alert, credibilty, disallow removal by those within close proximity who are stationary, disallow removal of other alerts by those respectively stationary near other [recently] active alerts, disallow removal by those who only mark not-there, grant higher confidence to faster than herd commuters, provide ETA based on which percentile group of commuter, tie traffic alerts to marked police for better estimation of dissipation (with color coding).
○ sheriffs are in conspicuous vehicles in high contrast black & white
○ sheriffs wear uniforms to stand out from everyone else
○ finding sheriffs without waze is not difficult
These high visibility vehicles inspire panic in hand-to-mouth commuters oft resulting in
• unexpected breaking
• truly reckless behavior
• slowing without break lights
• rubber-necking caused mass delays increasing risk of rear-endings
Sheriffs driving both slower than the herd & slower than outdated posted limits benefit no one, obstruct commerce.
These facetious requests to censor map information is inanity & unamerican. Currently Sheriff Association is the whine festival.
♢ criminals intent on harming sheriffs will listen to police radio to find sheriff's location.
♢♢ should we ban radio use?
Less information obviously will not stop crime. Better information allows better decisions. Please don't treat everyone like criminals. Innocent until proven guilty? Remember!
More restrictions makes no one safe. Gun licensing and firearm right-suppression undermine right to life from conception to natural death, and demonstrably increases crime. Everyone has a RIGHT TO THE TRUTH.
The road is less safe with absurd limitations.
%▶ if safety: 9 mph
%▶ if pollution reduction or efficiency: 92 mph
Fast driving is not reckless. Slow driving can be reckless.
▶ roads are built for commerce
▶ commuters pay taxes
▶ cities don't exist to be profitable
▶ citizens aren't a money tree
Waze helps tax payers effect prudence.
● police should be pursuing those who perpetrate violence against others after a crime.
● police are not performing their sworn duty well by collecting artificial undemocratic taxes.
● highway patrol was created to help commuters with road-side difficulties prior to the age of wireless phones.
wTL;dr
■ more information better
■ censoring is not better
■ do not treat everyone as a criminal
■ say NO to impoverishing efficiently driving commuters
■ fixed limits are outdated per se
■ dismiss with prejudice sheriff association inane request
May God bless America and its internets.

Amen.
Their claims are specious.
Obviously waze allows CITIZENS whom they've sworn to protect and serve who pay their salary through taxes effectively avoid fascist tithing through waze.
Go catch dangerous criminals. RARELY is exceeding the speed limit also reckless driving.

We (Latvia) have mobile speed traps manned by operators who figured out that Waze is extremely effective against them. So they've started removing reports from the map. I suggest to introduce conditions for removing such marks to fight the misuse. That could be to not allow removing the trap for for some time if reported by many and deleted by one/few in a series. Or to not allow to delete repeatedly by the same user. Mobile speed trap issue is highly controversial here. In most of the cases the radars are used with no goal to improve safety on the road but just to issue fines.
