Add option to prefer beautiful way (scenery) over short/fast way
When on a trip we sometimes prefer a beautiful way (view, atmosphere, interesting villages etc.) over the short/fast one. (I noticed that on our last trip abroad).
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Add an option to turn off automatic route optimization ("Route X is faster - CHANGING!"). When riding a bike, we may **manually select** a route for our enjoyment, not because we're in a hurry.

When I search the path I would like to have on the display the possibility of choosing not only the fastest way but also the path with less car or truck. In this case I can choose the way more relaxing if I'm not in hurry

Sometimes for daily commutes & long trips, we don’t want to drive the shortest or fastest route, because we prefer a back road/alternate route or scenic route. It would be nice to have the option to choose a familiar or alternate route, rather than being limited to the fastest or shortest routes.
My guess is many Wazers have a favorite/familiar or scenic route that they prefer, and want the notifications that Wazes offers, and would like the option to choose them over the shortest/fastest route.

If you have time to spare turn on Meander Mode and take the road less traveled. As we continue to get back to life as normal, post pandemic, we shouldn't forget the pleasure of free time, outdoors and the importance of supporting small local businesses.
Prior to the invention of the interstate there were small thriving communities throughout the US, but as we got into a rush we bypassed those places and settled instead for truck stops and fast food plazas. With Meander Mode you can choose how much time you have to discover and what you are interested in discovering (small businesses, scenic drives, historical sites, etc.)
Offer small businesses that receive some set amount of positive reviews a signal boost to potential customers. That encourages businesses to be outstanding, as well as local consumer engagement to boost their favorite local places.
The pie in the sky idea is that this leads to people spreading out again, moving to these small dying towns, and reinvigorating their economies and the nations economy as a whole. Allow the nation to become a melting pot once again, instead of a bunch of hollering in echo chambers. -

Add a setting when you are outside your local area (or even in it) when you do not want to take every available backstreet to beat traffic, but would rather stay on main roads/highways

can you ask your users to rate a street or a route based on the beauty of it and how enjoyable it is to take it, and add this as an option for other users to take the more scenic and beautiful route, if they want to?

Can Waze add an option to take a ride to local areas with great scenery. Since COVID-19 has limited date nights and restaurant visits. My wife and I enjoy taking evening drives and it would be pretty nice if Waze had an option and mapped a drive just around our local city.

Can you make a thing where you can put in an amount of time to be driving for and Waze gives you like a random round trip driving route? That would be fun for exploring or them drives where you just want to clear your head

Road trip feature where you select a type of destination. Like shopping center or restaurant and waze decides where to go and how to get there. So you can experience new things. You. Would charge businesses to be a feature stop in your road trip option. Or a pass by in the route. You could choose scenic route or short route. Type of cuisine or type of store.

Waze already prefers beautiful routes over shortest/fastes ones, in some way (it happens much more than using Google Maps).
But making it more precise and standard, with the option to choose what kind of routes to give more "space" in the user settings, would make it still better.

Hi, I want to design a software that will make tourism possible. That means we can go from town to town and see the natural places on the route and get in touch with local guides. We can also use local homes. Introduce the right way. Offer a stop time. Can I work with your company and add these features to your software?

Can you add a route option that is the "nicest" drive? Not the shortest, but with least stop and go traffic. Most continuous drive. I wouldn't mind a longer drive if more pleasant without the traffic. Maybe options as well as to how far out of the way to go to get the least traffic?

Soon we will travel from Philly to Baltimore. A three hour drive that we need to make a six-eight hour trip. Having the option to see locations of museums, historical markers, local points of interest would be a much appreciated addition to your service.
