Add a way to put Waze to sleep in Apple CarPlay
If I navigate with Waze in Apple CarPlay, it stays open on my phone and drains my battery unless I remember to go on my phone when I get out of my car and put Waze to sleep. Then the next time I get in my car, Waze starts up even if I don't use navigation and stays on on my phone when I get out of the car, again draining my phone battery. And if while in the car, I put Waze to sleep on my phone or quit the app, it immediately starts up again. This is a huge pain. I want a way to only have Waze active WHEN I WANT IT TO BE, not every time I get into my car.

Shortcuts for Hazard Reports
When using the Hazard Report feature in Waze I often find that:
1) I use 1 to 3 reports a LOT more often than any others.
2) I often find that selecting these hazard icons using the current method is fiddly, dangerous when driving, and slow, resulting in the report being sent late, often about 100 meters or more past the hazard.
My improvement idea is to add 1 to 3 hazard SHORTCUTS that "slide out" for selection from the existing hazard report icon (yellow triangle) on the FIRST touch, they would then "slide in" again after selection to avoid taking space on-screen. A double-tap of the existing hazard icon would bring up the existing whole set of hazard icons if needed. Users could choose in settings what 1-3 hazard icons they want to use for their shortcuts.
For me (and possibly everyone else) I will find this makes a Hazard Report much easier, safer and accurate. Especially if you use your phone horizontal (landscape) on your dashboard.

Better navigation for electric vehicles
I think Waze can make a very big impact by greatly improving navigation for electric vehicles.
Given that the charging structure in Europe is now largely very good, scheduling the various charging points for a long trip is no longer necessary in advance.
A nice solution would be to show on the screen the next 3 (fast) charging stations, along with the total number of charging stations (red) that are there, how many are still available (green) and how many are out of service/in maintenance (gray) (like A better route planner does).
In addition, also the percentage of charge with which you arrive at the charging station, allowing you to choose whether you want to charge safely and arrive with a higher charge or whether you want to arrive with a lower percentage and thus achieve a higher charging rate.I think Waze can make a very big impact by greatly improving navigation for electric vehicles.

speed camera popup
The speed camera warning popup obscures the lane guidance when used in Android Auto. Lane guidance is more important than the speed warning, especially when getting close to highway exits or when the upcoming turn is close to the speed camera. Please reduce the speed camera pop up or move it elsewhere!

Let to use keyboard (as passanger) on Android Auto
As a user, I would like to have with Android Auto the same option as with Apple CarPlay to use the keyboard as a passenger.
Currently, while I'm driving with family f.e. on a highway in my country it's illegal to stop on the side of the road. So I'm not able to enter the destination address while in motion. My wife as a passenger has to plug out my phone from USB and enter it manually and plug it in again. It's just plain stupid. It's not even a security option if I have to use my phone to enter an address, while iPhones (Apple CarPlay) can do that without any problem.
Basically, for that reason, I'm thinking about switching my phone from Google Pixel to an iOS device.

customize Shortcut buttons on map screen
I think its better let users to add 3 shortcut buttons(floating or fix) to map screen like ( vehicle stoped, police or anything which user decide) then user can report by one click ,its fast and safe
It help to make fast reports , current situation is user have to make 2/ 3 steps to make report, on busy roads its very useful.10 votes -

A way to report Gas Stations or EV Stations that are out of service or out of gas
Normally during storms, people will stock up on gasoline and stores may run out of gas to sell. Having a feature that allows users to report when gas stations are out of gas or EV stations are out of service on the Waze app would be incredibly useful for drivers. Not only would it save time and frustration by allowing drivers to avoid gas stations that are out of service, but it could also help promote safer driving practices. For instance, if a driver is low on gas and there are no nearby gas stations with available fuel, they may be more likely to speed or drive recklessly in an attempt to reach a gas station further away. By providing real-time information about gas station availability, drivers can make informed decisions about their driving habits, ultimately leading to a safer and more efficient driving experience. This addition could save drivers precious time and prevent frustrating detours by providing real-time information on the availability of essential resources. For traditional vehicles, knowing in advance which gas stations are depleted can prevent unnecessary stops and help drivers plan their refueling more strategically. Similarly, for EV owners, having accurate data on functional charging stations is pivotal to ensuring seamless journeys and alleviating range anxiety. Waze could further create a dynamic network where drivers actively contribute to more accurate and reliable data.
I hope this idea comes to fruition or at least taken into consideration, and/or others like the idea to make it real.

Adding Traffic signals to the map or giving the option to avoid signals or not
Will there ever be an update that gives you the option to avoid traffic signals or not or possibly show traffic signals on the map? Many times in order to save time. It routes me to a block with no traffic signal at forces me to make a left onto a busy intersection, which sometimes is very dangerous. I’d much rather wait at a traffic light which I end up having to do anyway, in order to make the left when the traffic stops.

Predictive Traffic Light Data
I have an idea that will revolutionize navigation in cities and significantly benefit Waze users - predictive traffic light data.
By leveraging real-time GPS data from our massive user base, our app can start predicting traffic light patterns at intersections. Using algorithms to analyze when cars stop and start at lights, we can gradually build models mapping out sequences and wait times for traffic signals across entire cities.
This would enable sending users notifications in advance whether they are likely to hit the next green or red light. They can adjust speed accordingly, eliminating unnecessary braking and idling. The benefits are immense:
Smoother driving - No more anxiety around unpredictable lights.
Optimized routes - We can factor light timings into the fastest routes.
Saved fuel - Less braking means big gas savings over time.
Reduced emissions - Lower carbon footprint via smoother driving.
Decreased congestion - Optimized traffic flow eases congestion.
Improved safety - reducing sudden stops lowers accident rates.
In essence, this becomes an optimization and prediction engine to enhance navigation, leveraging real-time crowdsourced data. The more users we have, the smarter the system gets. We can even work directly with city officials to improve traffic planning using our insights. The data and technology already exist - this puts them to use for a game-changer feature. Drivers spend 13% of urban commute times waiting at lights - we can give them that time back, and revolutionize how people and vehicles flow in the world's cities.
Let's discuss the viability and impact further. This could redefine navigation and mobility for a greener, smarter future. Are you in?

Route planning based on severe weather
Is it possible to add a radar weather layer to the navigation map while driving in real time and suggest alternative routes to avoid severe weather. It would be useful to avoid large snow/ ice storms or hail/ thunder storms.

Multiple road shield support for main segment name.
Other map devices show multiple road shields for users. Unfortunately Waze will only allow one in the main name. It would be useful for roads that have more than one road shield on them to show them all.

Time saved vs detour tolerance slider
The biggest complaint I hear from non waze users is that it routes you a zig zag through a neighborhood or takes you off/on the highway to save 20 seconds.. I use it everywhere I go myself, still worth it BUT I do get annoyed when a significant amount of twists and turns if they don't end up being necessary.
I suggest a slider in settings in which the user could say "keep me on the most direct route unless it saves me at least" 3 minutes.. 5 minutes.. 10 minutes etc.
In order words allow me to set my time saved tolerance and if I set it to 3 minutes for example keep me on the highway unless getting off and back on will save me more time than my tolerance setting.

Choix de type de véhicules
Bonjour
