I would like to see waze showing offline music player apps such as poweramp while driving
Waze is not showing offline music playing. To be honest all the other apps are online based, which is pretty bad while driving as it depends on network availability.

Too many notifications before a turn, can we decide distance before a turn
At the moment I get a notification about 1km before a turn, then about 800m, 500m, 200m. It’s too many. Just a menu item with a list of possible turn distance notifications, and a checkbox next to each so we can decide how many. My own choice would be 800m and 200m, but two is enough notifications for a turn in my opinion. Maybe also a system to adjust these distances depending on my speed. But maybe that’s getting too complicated! But basically give us the possibility to choose.

Allow Wazers to suggest or change the voice pronunciation of street names.
Allow Wazers to suggest or change the voice pronunciation of street names. Listening to a pronunciation of a street that is way off is rritating. Locals are going to know the correct pronunciation. I cringe every time I hear what I presume to be AI, butcher a street name.

Remove Reporting of Emergency Vehicles that are MOVING
REMOVE TAGGING OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES
Morons are tagging moving vehicles, on BOTH CARRIAGEWAYS. Those vehicles are never there when you get where the report was made and you get loads of reports that don't mean anything. It's a needless distraction.
Either remove it or RENAME IT..... STATIONARY EMERGENCY VEHICLES.
Hopefully, most users can read.

Predictive Speed Regulation to Prevent Phantom Traffic Jams
Feature: Predictive Speed Regulation to Prevent Phantom Traffic Jams
Problem:
When one vehicle hard-brakes on a highway, it creates a backward-traveling shockwave. Due to human reaction times, vehicles behind brake even harder — causing a dead-stop jam with no actual obstruction. These "phantom jams" cause thousands of rear-end collisions yearly.
Proposed Solution:
Waze already collects real-time GPS telemetry from millions of drivers. If the system detects a sudden velocity drop, it could instantly push a "Reduce speed to 60 km/h" advisory to drivers further back — absorbing the shockwave before it cascades.
I Built a Working Simulation:
I've created an open-source Python simulation using the Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) physics that proves this works:
Without intervention: 11/15 vehicles reach dead stop
With V2Cloud warning: Zero vehicles stopped, shockwave fully absorbed
Effectiveness drops sharply above 1.5s latency — Waze's existing infrastructure is fast enough
GitHub (full code + demo): https://github.com/san342147/v2cloud-traffic-optimization
Video demo: https://www.linkedin.com/in/[YOUR-LINKEDIN-URL]
No new hardware required. No V2V sensors. Just an algorithm upgrade to Waze's existing real-time traffic engine.
I'm a B.Tech AIML student from Chennai, India and would love to discuss this further with the Waze engineering team.

Turn off speed bumps
Make the speed bump notifications that way that people can turn it off, and to be able to turn off from the map also. It is very irritating when you are driving around the city and the speed bump warning pops up every 5 meters. It’s disgusting and annoying. 1. The alert covers up half the screen, and 2. the small yellow icons on the map are annoying as well because you cannot see the street names because of them.
Please just make an option where you can fully turn off speed bump warnings if you dont give a f*ck about them.
Thank you.

Average speed zone - keep indicator on screen in car play
If we can’t have the calculation of our average speed at least keep an icon on screen in car play. If we miss the notification we entered an average speed zone we may not realise we are in one.

Make the new arrow position work for those of us using the map facing North
Waze changed the position of the car to allow for more visibility for people who have the map facing their direction of travel, however they completely forgot about all of us who prefer the map facing North.
Now we are basically using 15% of the screen for navigation, the rest is dead space.
Also - whenever we are facing South we can’t see upcoming turns, forcing us to do potentially dangerous last minute lane changes.
This is a major safety concern and Waze needs to address it immediately!2 votes -
Need an opinion for Satellite Mapping
What sets this app apart from other competing apps is its option to convert the map to satellite view, which is the only thing this app lacks to become my number one. I hope it will be added soon.

Always show the current street name bubble (even without active navigation)
Currently, Waze only shows the prominent bubble with the current street name when a destination is set. When driving without navigation, we have to look at the map to find small text on the roads, which is distracting and unsafe.
Please add an option to keep the current street name bubble fixed at the bottom/top of the screen at all times. This would greatly improve readability and driver safety for those who use Waze just to monitor traffic and alerts on familiar routes.

Night-Safe Routing
Hello Waze Team,
I would like to suggest adding a “Night-Safe Routing” option in Waze. This feature would allow users to choose routes that are safer and more comfortable when driving at night.
At night, some roads may be poorly lit, isolated, or less frequently used, which can make drivers feel unsafe or less confident, especially in unfamiliar areas. Current routing primarily focuses on travel time and traffic conditions, but does not account for nighttime safety factors.
By introducing a Night-Safe Routing option, Waze could prioritize routes that are better lit, more populated, and have more consistent traffic flow. This would help drivers feel more secure and reduce stress during nighttime travel.

Road Surface Hazard (Partial or Full Road Flagging)
Dear Waze Team,
I would like to suggest enhancing the hazard reporting feature by allowing users to flag either a portion or an entire road as having poor surface conditions (e.g., full of potholes or severe degradation), instead of reporting only individual potholes.
In many areas, road damage is not limited to a single spot but affects continuous segments or even the whole road. Reporting individual potholes in these situations does not accurately reflect the overall driving experience and may underestimate the level of discomfort or risk.
By enabling users to mark a partial segment or the entire road as “Severely Damaged Road” or similar, Waze could provide more accurate navigation and help drivers avoid routes with consistently poor conditions, not just isolated hazards.

Can we have a report for Highways Agency under the police section. That are too many false reports for police when it is just Highways Agency going about their day, but it is important to know when HA are around as they can cause hazards
