Instrument Cluster Map: Zoom, Clarity & Full Detail Upgrade
The instrument cluster map (e.g. modern BMWs) is too zoomed in, limiting forward visibility. It lacks detail vs the main screen and can become cluttered at turns, reducing usefulness.
Request:
• Add adjustable zoom with a wider “look-ahead” default
• Flatten the 3D perspective to show more of the road ahead
• Match detail level to the main display (full map parity)Fix visibility issues:
• Prevent overlapping turn/road labels
• Move secondary info (street names, overlays) to a small, bottom-aligned area
• Prioritise the active route visually over all other elements bar cameras, traffic, road works, pot holes etcNavigation clarity:
• Improve junction/roundabout rendering
• Add stable, non-flickering guidance when moving through complex turns
• Dynamically highlight upcoming junctions as you approachWhy it matters:
• Reduces reliance on main screen
• Improves safety and focus
• Makes the cluster map genuinely usable as primary navigationNice-to-have:
• Speed-based auto zoom (faster = wider view)
• Separate settings for cluster vs main screenThe instrument cluster map (e.g. modern BMWs) is too zoomed in, limiting forward visibility. It lacks detail vs the main screen and can become cluttered at turns, reducing usefulness.

Directional Hazard Reporting
When looking at reported hazards on the map its never clear which side of the road they are on. Theres a rudimentary "on the shoulder" or "on the other side of the street" but only for specific hazards and its not well indicated when looking at the map. This is an easy fix. Put a directional chevron above or below the reported hazard (or on whichever side of it depending on current map orientation so its set to always be pointing in one or the other direction of traffic on the street it was reported on even if you move the map around) to indicate the direction the person was driving when they reported the hazard by default and give the wazer an option to change the indicators direction to indicate traffic moving in the opposite direction if they noticed the hazard on the opposite side. The reverse direction option should be easy to uae and not require additional diverted attention to execute. For example after pressing the final button that places your reported hazard, the reverse direction button pops up in that buttons place for a few seconds so you only need to tap one more time in the same spot to invert the direction or do nothing to leave it as is.

Roronoa Zoro
Since he's directionally challenged, maybe we can show him the right way to go without side quests. I would love to hear mosshead yelling at me, that I'm going the wrong direction. Waze was made for him. Lol

Allow speedometer/magnify/alerts button to be placed on either side
Screens are getting bigger. Have an option to put the alert buttons on the side closest to the driver. This may help with people with short arms and also will help keep eyes on the road!

What’s the Biggest Regret You’ve Had After Buying a Car?
Hey everyone,
We all know the thrill of finally driving off with a new car. That fresh smell, the shiny dashboard, and the excitement of showing it off to friends and family. But sometimes, the excitement fades, and reality hits. Have you ever bought a car and immediately thought, “Was this really the right choice?”
I wanted to open up a discussion about the biggest regrets we’ve had after buying a car. Let’s share our experiences, learn from each other, and maybe help someone avoid the same mistakes.
Common Regrets After Buying a Car
Underestimating Maintenance Costs
Sometimes the initial price looks good, but later you find out the car is a money pit. Unexpected repairs, expensive parts, and regular maintenance can turn what seemed like a great deal into a heavy burden.
Choosing Style Over Practicality
It’s easy to fall in love with a sleek sports car or a flashy SUV. But after a few months, you might realize it’s hard to park, drains fuel fast, or doesn’t suit daily life. Comfort and practicality often matter more than aesthetics.
Not Researching Reliability
I once ignored user reviews and reliability reports. Let’s just say, I ended up spending more on trips to the mechanic than I ever expected. Doing homework before buying is key.
Missing the Resale Value Factor
Some cars depreciate faster than others. If you don’t think about resale, you may end up losing more money than you anticipated. Sometimes sticking to well-known, reliable brands is the safer bet.
Overlooking the Right Buying Source
Buying from the wrong dealership or private seller can lead to scams, hidden problems, or unnecessary stress. That’s why many people now look for verified options, like Japanese cars for sale, which often come with clear history, quality checks, and trusted sourcing. My Take
For me, the biggest regret wasn’t the cost it was choosing a car that didn’t fit my lifestyle. I wanted something sporty but ended up with constant fuel stops, cramped space, and a car that felt more like a headache than a joy. Looking back, a practical, reliable option would have saved me stress and money.
Your Turn
I’d love to hear from all of you. What’s the biggest regret you’ve had after buying a car? Was it maintenance, the model, resale value, or something else? Any lessons learned that others should know? Share your story!
Let’s make this thread a helpful space for anyone considering a new purchase. Who knows, your experience might save someone else from a long-term regret. for more information visit: https://nobukojapan.com

Apple car plsy
Waze is glitching a lot lately, flashes a big red glare across the screen and now if you leave the map and come back to it, it’s just a blur and won’t come back. Very disappointing lately.

WayPoints
While driving down the road, I should be able to press my cat icon and set a waypoint or point of interest using current location. This allows me to save points of interests for future trips. This would be very helpful

Alert
Alerts are often very close to the item and less useful than they could be.
I got a red light ticket and the alert for the red light camera only appeared as I went through the intersection.
Obviously it's my responsibility to drive the car, but it would be helpful to get an alert about 15-20 seconds before I approach whatever the item is.
For police or emergency vehicles it should be more like 1 minute.
And finally - if we're under the speed limit - then just show the Alert.
But if we're over the speed limit then show the Alert and play the sound, and if we don't slow down - play it again to get the driver's attention.

Reports
I would like it if in the account history I was able to see more information about reports I've done, and to export that data.
I use Waze as I'm driving to report potholes and then later I carry that over to my city's website in order to get it fixed.
In Waze, when I look at previous reports I just see a small map that often doesn't show the street names or the crossing streets.
I would like for the app to have a zoomable map so I can zoom out and see where the report was. Ideally I would be able to export the day and time of the report, the type, the lat/long of the report, the street name and direction of travel in a .CSV file.
