Waze should stop when CarPlay ends
For some reason the Waze app and the current route navigation does not stop when CarPlay has stopped and the car is off. It resumes on the phone and is quite annoying. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps correctly terminate the navigation once the car is turned off.

New 2026 version uses 1.5 km for instructions instead of 1 km
The new Waze version (got it early 2026) uses a distance of 1.5 kilometer instead of 1 kilometer for navigation instructions. It makes no sense to use fractions and it's distracting. Either change back to 1 kilometer or add an option to change this.

Waze Level Update
Update Waze level and points , currently we only have 5 waze level, and alot of people already got the waze royalty. it is probably a good time to update the waze level to incentives people to use waze more often
i suggest making a 10 waze level consisting of 1.Waze Baby 2.Waze Teen 3.Waze Grown Up 4.Waze Warrior 5.Waze Soldier 6.Waze Knight 7.Waze Captain 8.Waze Hero 9.Waze Royalty 10.Waze King (with a crown and king robe)

Most Used Road Traffic Alerts
They should make a system of where if there’s traffic on your Most drived Roads Or Highways it should display a notification or alert once opening the app or when driving, if you know what i mean, I think it’s a neat idea.

Allow thumbs down in alerts nearby that are wrong or when tou missed clicking in time
I want to be able to click on an alert and have a way of saying that the condition is no longer there to save others this pain of a longer/slower route.
Background: We were routed to a slower parallel route because of old alerts for standstill traffic. We had full view of the interstate and there was no traffic jam. Our rerouted waze route had construction with flaggers and was several minutes slower

Real-time Border Wait Times & Dynamic Rerouting for International Travel
Currently, Waze lacks a dedicated feature for border crossing delays. While traffic is shown, there is no specific information about customs or passport control wait times.
I propose a consumer-facing feature that:
1. Visualizes specific border delays: Show a dedicated "Border Wait" timer on the route bar.Dynamic Checkpoint Comparison: If the main border crossing (e.g., a major highway) is congested, Waze should automatically compare wait times at nearby smaller border crossings and suggest a faster alternative.
Crowdsourced Wait Times: Let users report their specific "Time to Cross" so others behind them get an accurate estimate.

Bring More Life & Personality to the Map Interface
It would be great to have optional map interface customization for users who spend many hours driving daily.
For example, offering different visual themes with richer colors, improved road contrast, more expressive lane guidance colors, and customizable map appearance modes (modern, minimal, vivid, classic, etc.).
Many drivers use navigation for long periods and a more customizable visual experience could improve readability, reduce fatigue, and make navigation feel more intuitive depending on driving style and personal preference.

Pothole Buffer
We have some major potholes in our immediate area that is not being repaired. However, I need to re-add these big potholes every second day on the app, Is there a way to prevent the app from removing a pothole the moment the first user selects “Not there” from the app because they see the popup as a nuisance and not to update the hazard status. You need to ideally change it so that three or more users need to say that the particular pothole has been repaired before removing it. The same goes for other reported hazards.

Full HUD integration for VW Multivan T7 (Navigation Metadata & Lane Guidance).
Using a VW Multivan T7 (2025) with Android Auto, the Head-Up Display (HUD) does not show precise navigation data from Waze. While Google Maps displays dynamic arrows, lane guidance, and correct roundabout exits on the windshield, Waze only sends basic or generic icons.
Please implement full support for the NavigationTemplate and mapTemplate in Android Auto to allow lane assist and detailed turn-by-turn info to be projected on vehicle HUDs.

I suggested a communication system using an app, like Waze or Google Maps, which would allow those in a disaster area, including inhabitants, builders, and construction workers, to have access to current and site-specific traffic conditions and other relevant safety information. Go back to spoken alerts.
It is the opposite of safe that I have to take my eyes off the road to look at the screen to find out what an alert bell is about. And if I do not look the alert bell is essentially worthless. Go back to spoken alerts.

Unmarked police car option for map reporting
Where I live, there are unmarked police cars who are using radar guns to send tickets to people in the mail. Please add an “unmarked police car” option to the reporting menu so people can have the distinction.
