Feature Proposal: Visual Markers for Start and End of Average Speed Zones
Dear Waze Team,
We are writing to you on behalf of the community of volunteer map editors and Waze app users in the Czech Republic. We would like to propose a new feature that, in our opinion, would significantly refine and clarify the display of average speed camera zones on the map.
Currently, we lack an effective way to visually mark the precise start and end points of an average speed zone on the map. We therefore propose two possible solutions:
- A New Icon with No Sound Alert: We propose the introduction of a new, non-audible icon that editors could…

Multiple entry points
Waze should re-enable its multiple entry points feature (eg one side of building or another).
Instead of using the first entry point, Waze users should be directed to the one that’s marked as the main point in the editor.

Show conflict choice option on deleting junction node
(Copied over from https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1525&t=229014)
If you try to delete unneeded junction node, but it can't be deleted due to a conflicting option between then, at the moment you need to inspect each segment to see what the differences are. This is especially frustrating when there may be a hidden speed limit set on a one way segment.
Can a dialog box pop up on deletion of a junction node if there is a conflict to allow the editor to select one of the conflicting settings for the newly joined segment?
OR
Create an error message saying the junction node…

The fact that all segments entering a Junction Box are 'locked' is a real pain. Why not do a little 'behind the curtain magic'.
Here is how I suggest you do this: when any segment entering a JB is 'touched' in a way that would currently cause a 'flag' to warn the user that the segment is locked, WME would instead 'take a quick snapshot' of everything involved in the JB and save that information.
A pseudo picture of the JB would be created where every segment entering the JB would be 'cut' where it crosses the boarder line of the JB.
The portion of each segment within the JB would retain the current segment # and other information as appropriate. The portion of…29 votes -
Closing URs that are no more in your editing area
I can edit the area of a UR when I first answer it because it is in my edit area. But sometimes I do reach the expiry date of the editing area in the middle of working on this UR. Because of that, I can't even close the UR I started working on.
It would be great if there will be an option to close a UR you started working on even if this UR is now outside of your editing area.29 votes -
Notification in WME for tile build delay
If there is a delay in the tile build or the map is rolled back for some reason, please show a notification in the WME.

Issue Tracker: Stop defaulting to All Issues - remember last saved filter selected
If you don't have a Pinned Save Filter, Waze should remember the last Save Filter selected rather than reverting back to "All Issues".
If I'm working on a Saved Filter, and need to refresh, it's more than likely I want to continue working on that same filter afterwards.

Use of alternate city names for routing
Several years ago the decision was made to use the postal city as an alternate city name for routing to addresses in rural areas. According to Wazeopedia "Waze founder and CTO Ehud stated in a US meetup that a search algorithm is so much work to build correctly and maintain, that Waze does not want to spend the time, money or energy to build their own, and are happy to stack the Waze matching process on top of the Google search algorithm." As a result, WME editors have spent untold time and energy adding the postal cities to these segments.…

Having a stop sign feature on the app and WME
Have a stop sign callout and a stop appear on the app and for all levels a stop feature for certain nodes or end nodes (probably end nodes most commonly)

Enable zoom keyboard shortcuts (Shift + up/down) when Streetview is open
Zoom keyboard shortcuts (Shift + up/down) are not working when Streetview is open. Please bring them back :)
They were intentionally disabled apparently - see forum post for more info: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2362272

Make RPPs a bright pink
Change the colour of the RPP from a camouflaged dusky pink (same shade used to literally camouflage reconnaissance Spitfires in WWII) to a bright pink like #fa0584 to make it more visible in urban backgrounds.

Associate permanent hazards with a path
When using permanent hazards, they sometimes only apply to some of the traffic on a give segment. An example would be a freeway segment where oncoming traffic from one ramp, and exiting traffic from the freeway merge on a specific segment between on and off ramps. If we add the multiple lanes merging hazard, it will alert for both groups but also all traffic that continues on the freeway even though it does not impact them. Instead, I have it mapped on the on-ramp but not for exiting traffic to alert to this often challenging merge zone. WME Road Types
The current classification of roads on the WME follows the road types in the USA (Freeway, Major and Minor Highways and other road types).
In Europe, but I think also in other parts of the world, the classification of roads is very different. This creates problems with editing roads, as it is difficult to adapt the WME type to the real situation.
It is necessary to revise the road classification of the WME according to the real classification of each country so that each country can edit the map in a correct and more real way.26 votesThanks for your feedback. Road height restriction.
To display road height restrictions for all tp yoe of vehicles. Some waze users does not select type of vehicle. At certain road, there are height restriction, if there is a notification when waze navigate trhough fastest routes it would be helpful for drivers.

Multilingual street names
Add the capability to add translations to street names so people who speak different/foreign languages can use the map. EX: In Israel, Google Maps has Anglicized street names, while Waze does not. As a result, the English-speaking voice in Waze cannot recite street names in Waze.
This feature would be of great use in NYC and other cities where there are plenty of ESL speakers and people who have very limited understandings of English. Spanish would be a great language to start with.

Allow applying A->B closures on B->A segments (and vice versa)
When selecting a one-way segment with a closure, and another segment without a closure, it is currently possible to select "Apply on all" to extend the closure to the second segment.
This only works if the second segment has the same one-way direction of the first segment.
When a segment with an A->B/B->A closure is selected, add a new option "Apply closure in any direction", which applies the currently selected closure as "both" on all additional selected segments.

A map problem for a suspected closed venue
Many venues that are closed remain in the WME and become WME garbage. During the years these "garbage venues" are growing in number, and the editors do not pay attention to them.
I suggest that there will be a new map problem that will pop up when a venue was not a destination of any navigation for a year or two. If the MP is closed without deleting the venue, it will reset the time for that venue (as though it was a navigation destination).25 votes -
New Description for Retirement/Nursing Homes
When editing the map and adding/editing places, it would be helpful if we could have a category for Nursing/Retirement Homes and Senior Centers. The number of seniors continues to grow, and having this category available would be a nice addition.

Disable lane guidance on some intersections
It would be great to disable lane guidance on some intersections, so the user will not view the next lane guidance until he cross the intersection.
