1. Combined Red Light & Speed Cameras

   The UK now has a growing number of red light cameras that also double-up as speed cameras. These should be able to be captured and displayed/warned as having both functions to drivers.

3. WME - Dynamic Speed Camera (Icon).

   Hi.

   It would be a nice touch to add a - Dynamic Speed Camera (Icon), so whatever the user inputs in the Speed Value Box, it will reflect the same on the Icon. I feel this would help new users who think every Speed Camera is (30) but in reality it can be something else.

7. Login: username error x design flaws

   A novice user approached me saying they tried to log into WME, but their password wasn't working.
   They said they reset the password several times, but nothing worked...

   They sent me a screenshot. See if you guys can figure out the problem.

   Reasons to blame the user:

   1) As soon as the user accesses the page, the phrase "Enter your username and password" appears.

   2) As soon as the user accesses the page, the placeholder "Username" appears in the text entry field.

   However, the user entered their email in place of the username. It's the user's fault!

   Reasons to blame Waze:

   1) Once the user clicks on the text entry field, the "Username" placeholder disappears.

   2) After the user submits the form, the phrase "Enter your username and password" is located too far from the text entry fields (above the red bar).

   3) The red bar is very vague (and still not fully translated to pt-br).

   4) The green bar brings outdated and conflicting information compared to the red bar.

   5) The persistence of the message related to the QR code at the top only contributes to increasing the noise in understanding the messages.

   Solutions:

   1) Duplicate the text "Username" and "Password" right above their respective text entry fields (below the green bar).

   2) Adopt a resilient solution for the "Username" field, which could be one of the following:

   a) Ideally, the field should accept both email or username indiscriminately.

   b) If the architecture makes the first option difficult, a specific message should appear if the user types an "@" in this field (in JavaScript, during typing, and redundantly after form submission).

   3) Prevent the display of the outdated green bar.

   4) Adjust the message of the red bar, to suggest which login information is incorrect (I understand that obscuring the user can be intentional, but in this case, the simple indication that an email was entered instead of a username does not pose a security risk).

   5) If the user has already opted for login with username and password, the error screen on login should make the option to log in with the QR code more discreet, in order to prioritize the already started flow.

8. New road type needed between ST to OR

   Passive road type

   Passive mean the penalties attribute doesn't need to use unpaved option.
   And MAY use penalties state similar to PLR

   Most of the road actually vehicles worthy but not qualified as Street (ST) or Off-road/Not maintained (OR supposed for 4X4)

   Most of it drivable and may be the most important route for local or user that knew the road.

   Why this passive RT needed? Majority of user not even know the unpaved switch exists,
   so do to differentiate the unpaved segment shown in apps, this creates complexity for the user to use Waze very well.
   Even with unpaved allowed, most segment maybe not be the best for user to feel safer which might as well going through brushes or palm estate with no street light etc especially for unfamiliar user to that area.

   If disallowed unpave segment will lead to no route toward to destination (please correct me if im wrong)

   In Waze there was NO satellite imagery base map for apps, hence it relies independently to the segments we draw. And we MUST draw/design road network as safer as we can for the public. I found numerous similar complaints in gmaps as well

   Usually this road will be use by local such near farm/village/rural area etc but does not be use as main route suggested by Waze algorithm.

   the criteria MUST fit

   1. The destination route ended at or near the segment
   2. It the only segment toward the destination

   As for now. I and some local community editors, plus being told that other country communities too, also share the same hope for this to be available to be use as officially instead using PLR to managing routing/UR/complaints issues on said area.

   Ignoring this may impacted Waze credibility as a reliable routing apps as proven in my country.

   I dunno how to call this road type. I give it to our volunteers community and waze to give it a name.

    Seria una buena utilidad, habilitar una nueva función en el panel de avisos de acceso rápido en la App, para notificar Obras de larga duración, o Obras de Corta Duración, estipulando un intervalo de tiempo fijo para mantener los avisos.
    Un ejemplo: Cortan un carril por obras, por una rehabilitación de la mediana en una autovía, el tiempo de la obra no lo sabes, pero al ver que es una obra de gran envergadura, pondrías Aviso de Obra Larga duración.
    Ejemplo 2: Vas circulando y ves que están asfaltando una calle, seguramente en 2-3 días, este terminada. Notificas aviso de Obra corta duración. y el aviso se mantiene esos 3 días, si continua, el resto de WAZERS pueden volverlo a notificar. o Eliminar el aviso si la obra ya no esta.

12. Expand original category of a new place

    Today, when adding a new place, we cannot assign to it a specific sub-category at once (except sub-categories of Car Services). We have to assign a generic category, then remove it and either enter the sub-category directly, or add again the proper category, expand it, and select the sub-category from the list. I suggest enabling expanding of the originally assigned category similar to categories added later.

13. Please can you introduce sub and sub-sub folders etc. for saved places.

    It would be great to be able to have and categorise sub folders with labels such as restaurants, hospitals, friends, clients etc.. These might be further nested to a higher level by area, county or country for example.
    It is really very cumbersome to scroll through hundreds of saved places to find the one I want. When I travel abroad I have different countries places all mixed together in one long list. With nested sub folders, finding a particular saved place could be done in mere seconds.

15. Link Google place to a residential place in Waze

    Many addresses in the Google Maps are marked far away from real locations, and it badly affects user experience in Waze. Today we only can link such wrong addresses to public places in WME. It will be more reasonable to allow linking them to residential places.

16. Possibility for editors to create map update requests, for changes that need higher level editors.

    Many times I can see needed changes or map problems that are prohibited for my level to edit or fix. But there is no option to report these issues to the higher levels, inside the map editor.
    Should I have to drive there and create a map issue report?

17. Excluding Specific Road Types in Polygons Based Events

    I would like to propose an improvement to the "Polygons Based Events" by adding an option to exclude certain types of roads, similar to the school zone alerts.

    In my case, I want to set up a PBE for major roadworks, but a highway crosses at a lower level and will be notified of this event even though it is not affected.

18. Automatically add street when adding a point location

    As a waze level 2 editor, when adding a residential place, I'd like for the street to be automatically pre-filled with the closest segment in the map.

    I have been adding a lot of residential places in my zone and I have to copy the street name and paste in each place I add. This process would be more expedite if street name is filled with the closest segment on the map and would avoid errors of places in streets different than the one they are put into.

19. Validation workflow & access to all functions

    Hello,

    I'm a current level 3 Area Manager and every day I have to deal with bottlenecks because I don't have the necessary level to make changes.
    So I have to find a L4 or L5 to do it, explain it to them and get the result.
    This is very time-consuming and somewhat archaic these days.

    I'd like to suggest the following:
    Be able to give all editors access to all functions or perhaps from L2 or L3 if we want there to be a minimum of editing experience. As well as adding a validation workflow for functions that currently require a higher level.

    In my case, this would allow me to make all the changes and, if some of them require a higher level, to submit a validation request to the higher levels.
    It's smoother and simpler.

    For example, I want to add lanes or speed bumps, but today I can't. With this change, I'll be able to add them and submit them, and an L4 or L5 will then have to validate or reject my edit (this system is in place for certain modifications, so why not extend it more widely?)

20. Lane guidance: Make "View Only" and "View and Hear" behaviors consistent for "continue straight" lanes

    In WME we have two options if we want to force "continue" lane guidance to be surfaced to the user - view only, and view and hear (or more recently, with and without audible instructions).

    Aside from the obvious difference in whether or not an audible instruction is issued to "use the Left 3 lanes to continue straight ..." or only a visual instruction, there's another more subtle behavior change that is not always welcome - namely, if you use the "View and Hear" option, it is additionally treated as a "Continue" TIO (turn instruction override). This means that, if View and Hear is chosen, when you are many miles away from the junction in question the "next turn" in the navigation list will be at the point of this junction, rather than the next actual turn, whereas if you choose "view only", you'll get visual LG about a half mile from the junction but otherwise the "next turn" will be where you'd expect it to be, at the next actual turn maneuver or exit you need to take.

    It is my opinion that these two behaviors should be decoupled - we have access to the Continue TIO if we want/need it for a particular junction, duplicating that functionality on the lane guidance is unexpected behavior and should be changed to simply announce the LG at the same location that view only would show it, without silently also duplicating the "continue" TIO behavior which may or may not be desired at a particular junction.
