Not necessary. If it is a map problem report, you just need to log into the editor, find the report and mark it solved and close it.
If it is a traffic hazard report, it will go away after a while because no one will confirm it.

We plan to work on putting School Zone alerts in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

type 1 problems should immediately effect traffic routing. These include traffic reports, missing signs, broken traffic lights, weather problems, road closures due to construction.
Some of these are ALSO long term problems, such as road closures due to construction. Sometimes these merit changes to the map, sometimes they do NOT merit changes to the map.
Currently, drivers sometimes make type 2 reports for type 1 problems. This has several bad effects: 1 there is no prompt change in routing, although one is needed.
2 valuable time of map editors is wasted. 3 changes are made to the map that later need to be reversed. 4 by the time the map changes are downloaded to the clients, the drivers are given wrong driving directions.
These problems start with the design of the user interface on the client. That is where the solution needs to start.

Actually, it should probably be changed to 'traffic light out or malfunctioning'!
I usually USE it for that purpose.

For reports that I have posted and fixed and those I posted and closed without fixing, I see some very nicely worded messages encouraging the UR poster to check out the edit and to fix the problem their self if the editor was not able to fix it.

I think the best thing to do is close the UR if you can't figure out how to fix it.

The user gets a message similar to this one:

    Hi bz2012,

The map problem you reported on Waze on Aug 7 has been reviewed by bz2012 but wasn't resolved, most likely due to insufficient information or non-exact location.

Solving map problems is done by wazers just like you, who have also become active in updating and improving the Waze map for the benefit of the entire community. You can try to solve the problem you reported by yourself. It's pretty simple and any change you make will affect the quality of navigation for thousands of Wazers in your area, as well as credit you with extra points.

You can access the area which contains the problem you reported on the Waze map editor here (https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat=30.448619&lon=-91.176253).

Check out the video on How to edit the Waze map (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVksbb1Z4SQ), or the Editing Manual (http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Map_Editing_%28new_Editor%29) and visit the Waze forum (http://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10) to interact with experienced map editors.

    Thanks,

    - All of us @ Waze

Even though most mail clients have a 'view source' which will allow you to view the html code and extract the URL, it is a pain and there is REALLY no reason that anyone should ever SEND HTML code in e-mail and there are MANY reasons for never using a client that forces you to open such a message with active live links. (FYI: that is the easiest way to get your system infected with malware [other than visiting a web site offering you FREE movies/greeting cards/music/games/cracked software])

    Hey,

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

    Thanks!

Drives in the new editor DO show duration of the drive.
    See http://www.waze.com/editor/
    click on 'my places'
    click on 'drives'

Some good ideas here. There may be problems finding the right person who can and will actually do something about such a problem but I suspect it can be done.

This probably should be posted in
    http://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59223-client-how-can-we-improve-waze-on-your-phone-
    rather than here.
