Thank you for this suggestion.
Setting the Car’s direction when starting the app and navigation is a known matter which will be addressed in the future.
There are many complexities in location tracking which cause this issue and hold us from providing a solution.
It’s currently on the back burner, but definitely a part of the backlog.An error occurred while saving the comment Rod D

Clarification: this issue is most common when standing still at a traffic light or stop sign, and would like to know which way to turn.
Additionally, there's a related issue that is less common for me, where waze misplaces the intial position altogether, either because of weak GPS signal, and/or because the location contains a few roads at relatively close proximity. For this issue it would additionaly be useful if waze allowed selecting the initial driving position when it is unsure between a few options.
