Add Road Surface Quality Layer (like OsmAnd) to Avoid Poor Roads
Currently Waze shows real-time hazards like potholes, but there's no permanent layer showing overall road surface quality (asphalt condition, gravel, smoothness).
Many apps like OsmAnd use OpenStreetMap 'surface' and 'smoothness' tags to color-code roads: green=smooth asphalt, yellow=rough, red=gravel/dirt. This helps plan routes avoiding bumpy secondary roads, especially in Hungary/Europe where road quality varies wildly.
Feature request:
Add toggleable 'Road Quality' layer in map settings.
Show road types: paved/smooth, paved/rough, unpaved, etc.
Route planner option: 'Avoid poor surface roads'.
Use community-edited data (OSM + Waze reports).
This would make Waze perfect for long trips with low-clearance cars (like hybrids) or motorcycles.…

satellite roads
I do understand the possible changes behind the scenes of the app but i honestly believe satellite roads is safer and more efficient for drivers as it provides a clearer view of the roads being driven on and not confusing drivers as it is confusing with cartoonish roads that nearly blend in together making it hard to understand which roads to take especially on highways. I have personally experienced not only myself but also seen other users of Waze experience missing exits and nearly and actually getting on to wrong exits because of the confusing “cartoonish” Waze maps. Add a compass to map view when using Android Auto.
In standalone mode a compass is visible on the map view but the compass disappears when using Waze with Android Auto.

Display more (limited) house numbers at destination
Short version: When approaching your destination display not only the pin for the address that you're arriving at, but also one, two or three addresses before and after the address. Example: navigating to 122 Main St would show up with the navigation pin, but also show a small number 114 and 118 before, and 126 and 130 after the pin.

Move control button to right hand side on right hand drive vehicle vehicles in Australia
Randomly sometimes the reporting buttons come up on my right hand side of screen close to my steering wheel on right hand drive car in Australia but doesn’t stay there. It usually opens up on the left-hand side which is a bit far to reach across the car to work anything can this be made? So it stays on the right hand side of the screen for a right hand drive car in Australia.

Move the road alerts to the top right or bottom left corner so not blocking arrival time?
Can you move the road alerts to the other side of the screen so I can still see the distance and arrival time without to click the "still there or not there" button to remove the alert?
