Sun glare
How about adding "sun glare" as a Weather Hazard option or as a general option; it can be blinding. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, sun glare causes approximately 9,000 crashes each year. It's the second environmental-related reason drivers get into crashes, with the first being slick roads. Also, move "vehicle on side ahead" to the first screen since for me it's the option I most use. Otherwise, it's two screen prompts to access it!

User definable size for current speed and speed limit objects.
Allow the diameter of the current speed and the speed limit circles to be determined by a small/medium:large parameter in settings

The speed indicator, black circle with red numbers is not clear enough. Not enough contrast between two dark colors.
Change the actual speed indicator color so that it’s an easy to see contrast between the color indicating your speed with the circle it sits in

Map direction color
it would be a good idea to have a different color route where we’re taking compared to the route around us. Sometimes it’s very confusing what route we’re supposed to take. Both are usually purple . Ours should be like a cyan color compared to the routes in the map.

North up changes desperately needed
I am trying to use Waze with the map displayed in the direction I’m actually going, North Up, Because with the map always moving what is actually North to just keep my direction always going towards the top of the screen one loses all perspective on where things are. When one would read a paper map one would always keep the map north up, that way you could always learn your relative position to other places. The problem comes in, when the map is set to north up the position is always in the dead middle of the screen rather…

Go back to old map display
Please go back to the old map display at night. The new one is terrible to navigate.The side roads are the same color as the route you are taking as well as any adjacent waterways. It is really distracting.

Colourblind friendly options
It would be great to be able to choose colour palette/s that are colourblind friendly (those who have trouble with particular colours and their shades such as reds, greens etc - such as protanope, dueteranope, tritanope).
While it would be good to have preset colour palette options…it would be better if we could choose our own set of colours that suit our individual preferences and saved into our profile.

U Turns displayed on map for divided highways (esp. interstates)
Display U Turns on the map for divided highways, especially interstates with the ability to enable/disable popup warnings of U Turns ahead. Sometimes police and other hazards are lurking in U Turns that have not yet been reported by other users.

North = up, but not while driving❗
I'm happy to see that an option to fix North to the up has finally been added (how many years?), thanks to SyberKnight here
💥BUT💥, as it's really great to browse the map (in 2D mode) with fixed North, like a real map, I really don't see the point of fixing the North up while driving. It causes tons of situations where the guidance is unusable (typically when using the phone in portrait and driving to the west, road to come becomes invisible).
So I suggest to add another sub-option: "Follow road direction when driving". If…

Hide ‘Where To’ in Map View
When you have the map displayed in portrait mode the ‘Where To’ pop up box commands a large part of the screen. I often use the map just to display current and surrounding area not in route navigation mode.
