Felix (member of the K-pop group Stray Kids) has a calming yet engaging voice that could fit well for navigation. English language navigation would have his Australian accent, and he (or another member) could potentially record Korean language navigation as well.

Enable full control in the app using voice only
Add an option to interact with the app using voice control
for instance :
reporting an obstacle on the road using Siri/Google assistant,
rerouting to a new destination while driving,
share your location using a voice command.
All these options should prevent the user from touching the phone while driving and decrease distractions.
The convenience of using the app while talking only will increase the amount of users reporting , and interacting with the many options given in the app.
This will lead to more credible information to be provided for the users.10 votes -

Preview how voices will sound before choosing them
I can see this has been suggested several times so I’m not very hopeful! But you notified me of some new voices yesterday which I was able to hear a sample of. So why can’t you do this with all the voices? Every other satnav system I’ve used has this option, it seems to me to be a very basic and necessary function, so I don’t understand why you can’t include it.

Speed Limit Announcer
Waze should have the option of Current Speed Limit Announcer, everytime when the speed changes, or if your on the road, and the speedometer pops up for example, “35” in a 35 mph road, or “60” in a 60 mph road
Waze on your phone and/or CarPlay should speak “The speed limit is “35 mph” or “The speed limit is 60 mph”
It is a lot better than looking at your radio just to see the speed limit is posted to prevent a crash

Allow users to remove ding for hazard and back to custom or default voice for hazard announcements.

Upon selecting the "Cha Cha Navigator" voice, users are greeted with: "Welcome to the Cha Cha Navigator! Let's slide through traffic together."
Instead of traditional directions, instructions are given in the style of the song:"Slide to the left" for a left turn."Slide to the right" for a right turn.Everybody clap your hands" when arriving at the destination.

Audible Alert for Fixed Speed Cameras
Every Sat Nav device that I have ever owned HAS an audible (sound) alert to speed cameras. This is because most drivers keep their eyes on the road most of the time, not on their Sat Nav. I have done some basic programming in the past and know that adding a PING (sound) to something that happens in a software program is the EASIEST thing that a developer could possibly do.
