Felix (Stray Kids) as a voice option
Felix (member of the K-pop group Stray Kids) has a calming yet engaging voice that could fit well for navigation. English language navigation would have his Australian accent, and he (or another member) could potentially record Korean language navigation as well.

Enable full control in the app using voice only
Add an option to interact with the app using voice control
for instance :
reporting an obstacle on the road using Siri/Google assistant,
rerouting to a new destination while driving,
share your location using a voice command.
All these options should prevent the user from touching the phone while driving and decrease distractions.
The convenience of using the app while talking only will increase the amount of users reporting , and interacting with the many options given in the app.
This will lead to more credible information to be provided for the users.9 votes -

Try out different voices
It would be awesome, if you could listen to the different voices before choosing one. I can only listen to the voice I chose when I am driving and that’s just not practical I think.

Add Volume button before entering destination
To reinstate the volume button at before entering destination, like the past version. This is to allow users to mute the volume if they are in a meeting and would like to check traffic without every single person in the meeting knows when Waze goes "Begin driving...".

Poweramp is one of the best music players for android and has a large userbase. I feel it would be a great addition to the list of supported apps.

An Instant Mute Button on the Screen
When I press the Waze speaker icon on the radio navigation screen when using Android Auto a list of options pops up. One of them is to turn the sound off. I would like just a simple mute button on the nav screen that instantly toggles the Waze audio off/on if I'm trying to listen to a news update and Waze is giving me detailed directions at the same time without having to select it from a list and taking my eyes off the road for an extended period.

Preview how voices will sound before choosing them
I can see this has been suggested several times so I’m not very hopeful! But you notified me of some new voices yesterday which I was able to hear a sample of. So why can’t you do this with all the voices? Every other satnav system I’ve used has this option, it seems to me to be a very basic and necessary function, so I don’t understand why you can’t include it.

Recommend a voice option with just 1 hazard button. Hit 1 button, WAZE asks what the hazard is, you say “pothole” etc
Have the option in settings to do voice notifications. Then there will be just one button to hit on the screen. Waze asks what the hazard is and we say, “pothole”, “object on road”, ‘Police” etc. This will make for a much safer journey.

Audible Speed Camera Alerts
Waze does not always capture temporary reductions in speed limits, and therefore AUDIBLE speed camera alerts are based on original speed limits. Eg. on a 70mph motorway if the speed has been reduced to 50, Speed Camera alert sound is available only if you are speeding over 70. In this case if the driver is speeding above 50 but less than 70 he will not hear the speed camera alert. Alerts displayed (without sound) not always captures the attention of the driver.
