Carpool
It would be great to be able to tell the app that we are a carpool and get adjusted travel time predictions and routes maximizing use of HOV lanes when beneficial
Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

I am in a position where I support multiple locations and can NEVER participate in a carpool! HOW can I turn that suggestion/reminder screen OFF!!!!

Yes please! In the Seattle area we have extensive carpool lanes, and some exits are carpool only. On our typical commute to work we shave nearly 10 minutes every day off our Waze estimate by using a carpool only exit. It would be great to specify the use of carpool lanes/exits in the app!

I agree and am surprised there aren't more comments / votes here. Driving while carpool eligible (in CA with two or more people, and in some cases requiring a transponder) can make the route very different.
1. The overall route chosen by Waze and time estimation will vary for carpool-eligible trips.
2. The individual exits (left or right) will also be different.Today, Waze seems to be totally oblivious to carpool/HOV lanes and eligibility. It would be a hugely valuable feature if it were able to handle carpool eligibility. Here's how it could function:
1. On each trip, the user can answer "are you carpool eligible?" (and can turn this promoting off in account settings)
2. If the user says "yes"
a) the routes will factor carpool traffic into route optimization.
b) the routes will assume user is in carpool lane and offer carpool exits instead of non-carpool exits.
3. The user has a way to get out of carpool mode in case they are not in the lane (reverting app to the usual non-carpool mode)This is the #1 thing I wish Waze could add as a feature. For me, it would mean faster trips and way fewer mistakes trying to jump out of the carpool lane only to later realize I could have stayed in it. It would also alleviate the annoyance of Waze thinking I am off-route (and recalculating) when I'm actually on a carpool interchange.
I imagine there are many others who frequently are carpool-eligible and would also appreciate it.
Thanks for considering it!!

I agree this would be incredibly useful. Also, if you indicate that you're going to use a carpool lane Waze could let you know if you can use a dedicated carpool exit or if you have to merge into the general flow because a carpool exit doesn't exist.

I am a regular carpool driver and I would find this feature very helpful. Often as a carpool we find ourselves debating if we should adhere to the Waze route or take an alternate due to the fact we can use the HOV lane.
