Movable speedometer
Hold your finger on the speed gauge to move the speed gauge to a suitable location on your screen.
This would be very useful especially on a tablet or phones with big screens.
Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

Would be helpful to be able to reposition the spedometer

I use the phone on landscape mode while driving and while navigation, the speedometer gets hidden when the lane indication box expands. There should be an option to keep the speedometer on the top of navigation screen. Alternatively an option to customisé speedometer location would also be great.

Yes, please. my built in holder in the car hides the location of the speedometer. And the icon of musicplayer is in a much better space. It would be nice if those icons could be switched. (iPhone-user)

Speedometer in way of steering wheel. Would be great to hold down on speedometer and move to a suitable location.

I've been looking everywhere on how to do the same thing. I was hoping that users made customized skins with different layouts (similar to Winamp or other mp3 players) would be available.
I would think with the steering wheel on the left side in US and Canada, that most would mount their phone on the right or upper right side of the steering wheel. So others would have a similar problem with them having either the steering wheel or their hand coming in the way to see the speed. I personally want the speed indicator on the lower right where it's clear to see but your idea of being able to move it anywhere, would be good (similar to a floating window).

Customizing the button locations NEEDS TO BE ADDED. I use my phone horizontally (landscape mode) and the app puts the "PIN" button over top of the "COMPASS" button so that if I tap the "PIN" (to report a hazard, cop, pothole, etc.), the screen rotates back and forth between "follow me" view and "north up". By the time I find the exact spot that allows me to report the hazard, I'm too far past it to be of any help.

I have a large car and a centre sreen. With the centre screen so large and the car being so large I cant see the speed limit on the left hand side as I am driving on the right hand side. The large wide screen also means it is hard to see the navigation unless I put i in the multiple app mode.

I'm a motorcyclist and I don't like looking down to see the speedometer in bottom left corner.
Would love to switch it to the top right or wherever I want.
People have been asking for this feature for years and I am sure it is easy to implement!
Maybe a larger speedometer too. -

Totally agree.. RHD car and phone mounted to the right of steering wheel... wheel and hand cover indicator in current screen position.. need to be able to move the display to the right side of the phone

When using the phone mounted to the right of the steering wheel, the speedometer in the lower left corner of the screen is often blocked from view by the steering wheel. It would be great if there were options for different locations to place the speedometer. Being that the speedometer is a more often hands off tool on the screen it should be able to be placed in more optimum locations vs the report button.

Hello users, hello waze team,
I recently switched to waze since google and Apple Maps just didn’t have enough features.
While I really like the addition of the speedometer and the speed limit display, I think it would be a great addition to let the user choose in what corner of the screen the speedometer will show. Also, my aftermarket headunit is pretty small and I find it hard to read sometimes, especially because it’s pretty small.
So why not let the user choose the placement and size of the speedometer?
In its current state it takes me too long to read it, making it unsafe.Hope to hear back from you

In many case people's hand block the view of the waze speedo if they are using a went style holder if we can switch it it would be easier to tag things on the map and also see our speed/limit.

Please, with Android Auto, zoom in on the two round speed limit signs at the bottom right of the screen!

For vertical android units should be better the upper corner position for speedometer. You won't need to down sight.
Or at least the user be able to choose better position according his screen unit -

Poderia haver a possibilidade de mover o velocímetro na tela para facilitar a visualização e navegação;

This would be easier and nicer to see on the left side especially since the icon is small

I am using an Android unit that is widescreen and the Icon is hidden by the steering wheel.
If it's possible to make it movable it will help in such cases.
Thanks.
