Quick report buttons
It would be a good idea to place some (2??) customizable quick report buttons on the main Map/interface; in such way we can report speed traps/ dangers/ police while we are driving with a single touch (or double to exclude unintended reports)!
There are too many menu/options to make a report... the only way to put them live is to stop the car and going trough a jungle of options... ( :geek: and I'm used to that! I'm an android user)
Heavy traffic is fine... you're stuck in your car and you've all the time to browse the options but the other reports need to be quick and non-distracting!
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Seriously, Waze, why hasn't this been implemented???? This would make using your app FAR SAFER than the current model of looking at the screen and tapping several times. Just DO IT ALREADY.

I agree. A single button press also has the advantage of more accurately displaying where the issue is. Currently by the time I click through the buttons and report a speed camera I'm like 200 metres away.
The buttons should be customisable but I think they should run horizontal along the bottom of the screen. And as buttons that don't need to be the same size circle, they could be 60% of the size.
When driving and encountering a hazard and want to report on it, the reporting options are too complex for the driving time.
The reporting must be simpler while keeping the full options (section for suggestions on top)
We all like to know when POPO are around however it is several button presses to report it so more often than not most drive past and don't report.
I think it would be great if there could be a police symbol on the main screen so that drivers can hit one button whenever they see police or radars, this will increase the reliability of this warning.

Hey. I would like to see in a future update Reports Shortcuts.
What does that mean? Simple. At buttons 3 user-defined reports above the Report button. Just tap them and the report will sent. Without any additional steeps. I found that making a report takes your eyes from the road for a good 3 seconds, if you you want make an accurate report, for example, a pothole on the road. You have 5 taps.
I know I can swipe from the report, but you still have to choose where the pothole is, tap the pothole then sent, basically one swipe and 3 taps, not a big of a difference.
I know you can make a shortcut to a report by pressing later, but it's only one time use.
I know the voice commands exit, but not on my country. (if you know a workaround to make them work, let me know).
I attach a image bellow to show you how I see this.
Also, I think you can make a feature for cars that have Bluetooth Players.
You should be able to catch the media inputs coming from the CD player the same way as a music player do and use this to control the app in different ways, to make a report for example. That is most useful for cars that have steering wheel media controls.
Let me explain how this could work. You press volume up on the steering wheel, this command will go to the CD player, then via Bluetooth, to the phone (Waze app). In the app you should be able to map the volume up button to the something. Imagine, just pressing volume up on the steering wheel and reporting a pothole. I don't know exactly how you will be able to control your music app, but I think Waze developers will find a way to pass the command to the music app, audio player integration existing already in Waze.
This feature is so desperately needed. It is very dangerous to have to click through four different screens to report a car on the shoulder of the road or something. I'd love to see something like this implemented.

Add options to create your own shortcuts using the shorcuts app, since recent updates of waze is no longer possible to report many things using voice commands, with this option everyone could create their own voice commands.
This suggestion should receive more attention by Waze. Pressing multiple buttons and navigating through various screens to submit a report offers distraction which can be a danger. Let's expedite a single-button report feature, which the user may customize.
Going on about 7 years now for this wonderful suggestion. WAZE Admins.. can we get some sort of response as to when this will be implemented or why it has not been?
Hi, there is a new law in Washington state that makes it so you can't touch your phone much. Is there a way to put buttons on the home screen like, police alerts and car on the side of the road? Those are the ones I use the most anyways and it can be distracting going through the menus to add a quick alert. Thank you so much! Love this app!
How is this not already a standard feature. It is extremely dangerous to have to drill down 2-3 menu levels WHILE DRIVING to make a single report. This feature need to happen!
I think it's a goat idea ;)
Simplify common tasks by having a one tap menu of six or so configurable actions so it doesn't take three or four taps to add a stalled vehicle for example.
I would personally add to my list: vehicle stopped on shoulder, roadkill, cop visible, and cop hidden. One tap to open my menu, one tap to send my report, done.
This is a fantastic idea, quick report buttons! If I could customize three buttons at the top of my map they would be (Hazard, Crash, and Police) in that order!
I see many suggestions for this: By far, the report I send most often is "Hazard > Shoulder > Vehicle Stopped" requiring 5 screen touches. Let's have a Shortcut icon on the nav screen to send this with only two touches: Touch 1 asks, "Send VSS(Vehicle Stopped on Shoulder)?" Touch 2 "Send" or "Cancel."
Even more flexibility could be added by making it a user configurable shortcut. That way each user could configure the shortcut to send whatever report they use most.

For me and my area being able to report pot holes with one touch would be fantastic.
Then allow the local governments to find them using the web live maps would help get the pot holes repaired faster.

Use speedometer AS the quick report button for SpeedTrapSpotting or officers with radar gun, laser, or lidar
Please also restore User Groups for SpeedTrapSpotting. I miss those.
Allow uploading of existing image. I'm not comfortable submitting image straight from the android camera. I prefer to sanitize it into PNG first.
Substitute groups with XmppTexting MUC (multi user chat)
Tying waze in with PubSub.
We will overcome

yes this idea super nice but i run out of votes T_T

This idea seems so obviously valuable ... Cannot imagine how this suggestion could be out there 2years and has so few votes? Hoping the Waze developers aren't limiting development to only the highest-ranking items.

Quick report buttons were my first thought as a new user. Color-code them, but make them user-programmable. I'd report hazards, police, accidents more often.
Integrating gesture as well would be helpful. For example, press button to report a hazard, then swipe left or right to indicate which side it is on, and/or swipe UP to indicate it is on the lanes moving in your same direction, or swipe DOWN to indicate it is related to the lanes moving in the opposite direction. A large pop-up could serve to remind you the meaning of the swipe gestures, but this would quickly become intuitive after a couple of uses.
